Resumo: This work is inserted in the line of contemporary aesthetics, modernity and technology since it proposes to analyze A morte sem mestre of the contemporary poet Herberto Helder with the objective of investigating how the Absurd constitutes a part of language and as a phenomenon of the of the human experience explored as theme of the book. For this, theorists of the Absurd will be studied, especially the books The myth of Sisyphus (2012) and The revolted man (2017), Camus. In addition, it will be necessary to know some discussions about modernity, whose main theoretician will be Giddens, with the consequences of modernity (1991). And finally, the technology perspective used by McLuhan in The Galaxy of Gutemberg (1972) and Vilém Flusser in The Black Box Philosophy (1895) will be used to demonstrate how Herberto Helder's language and metalanguage reflect a dimension of contemporary man. Thus, this word prospects to develop a way to investigating the individual through the linguistic elements.

Thus, this word prospects to develop a way to investigating the individual through the linguistic elements.Este trabalho se insere na linha de Estéticas contemporâneas, modernidade e tecnologia do Programa de Pós-graduação em Estudos de Linguagens já que se propõe analisar a obra A morte sem mestre do poeta contemporâneo português Herberto Helder com o objetivo de investigar como o Absurdo se constitui enquanto parte da linguagem e enquanto fenômeno da experiência cotidiana do homem explorado como tema do livro. Para isso, serão estudados teóricos do Absurdo, principalmente os livros O mito de Sísifo (2012) e O homem revoltado (2017), de Camus. Além disso, será necessário conhecimento das discussões sobre a modernidade, cujo teórico principal será Anthony Giddens, As consequências da modernidade (1991). E por fim, será utilizada a perspectiva de tecnologia utilizada por McLuhan, em A galáxia de Gutemberg (1972), e Vilém Flusser, em A filosofia da caixa-preta (1895), para demonstrar como a linguagem e a metalinguagem de Herberto Helder refletem uma dimensão do homem contemporâneo. Como resultado dessa base teórica, espera-se sustentar a ideia de que as subversões linguísticas/gramaticais da escrita do poeta português ajudam a compreender o indivíduo contemporâneo. Tendo isso em mente, três poemas do livro A morte sem mestre foram analisados sob este aparato teórico.
