Resumo: This dissertation presents the development and experimental validation of a high-gain DC-DC boost converter derived from a frequency-modulated switching cell-based boost interleaved structure, modified by the insertion of a voltage boost capacitor to replace one of the diodes in the conventional configuration. The research is justified by the growing demand for conversion systems capable of interfacing low-voltage renewable sources, such as photovoltaic systems and fuel cells, to higher-voltage DC buses, while preserving high efficiency, reduced electrical stress on semiconductors, and ease of control. The objective of this work is to propose, model, analyze, and experimentally validate a topology capable of achieving a static gain higher than that of the conventional interleaved boost converter, while preserving soft-switching characteristics and adequate energy performance. The methodology adopted involves a systematic literature review, detailed mathematical modeling, analysis of steadystate operating stages, evaluation of voltage and current stresses on the devices, loss estimation, component design and dimensioning, and the implementation of 1 kW experimental prototypes with digital control based on a digital signal processor and frequency modulation strategy. The results obtained demonstrate that the proposed topology provides approximately 4 times higher static gain than the conventional structure under the same duty cycle, preserves smooth switching conditions in semiconductor devices, exhibits favorable voltage follower behavior, and achieves experimental efficiency greater than 97% at nominal power. It is concluded that the developed converter constitutes a technically viable and competitive alternative for applications in renewable energy systems that demand high static gain, high efficiency, and reduced control complexity.
