The housing deficit is one of the big urban problems in Brazil. Another current concern, on a worldwide scale, is sustainability, encompassing environmental, economic, and social aspects. Therefore, this paper aims to analyze the feasibility of the implementation of sustainability criteria in Social Interest Housing (HIS) through the Label Casa Azul. For this purpose, the research is grounded in the methodological method of Design Science. Two buildings (artifacts) are simulated in the HIS molds: in a conventional way and in a way that meets the requirements of the Label in order to predict the budgetary impact of building the house and which environmental impacts are generated in the short and long term. Thus, it was possible to observe the increase of the economic value of approximately 30% due to the strategies employed. Additionally, it was determined that the value, considering the financial economy of water and electricity, of the simple payback (12 years) and discounted payback with an interest rate of 6% (19 years) and discounted payback for the interest rate 3% (14 years old). The water economy is 14,21 m³/month and electricity 251,4 kWh/month. It is concluded that, despite the significant cost increase, the calculations were made for a HIS and one must consider the fact that generally, several houses are built at the same time, increasing the potential environmental benefit.
