Individuals’ assessments and perceptions of their housing and surroundings are influenced by several aspects, and residential satisfaction seeks to understand whether individual needs are being met. Residential satisfaction involves several elements that are interrelated and interact with each other, só it is considered a complex topic. In this sense, the general objective of this work is to identify how the factors of the urban environment influence the satisfaction of the individual in the context of his residential environment. As for the objectives, the research was classified as exploratory. As for the nature of the data, the research was classified as quantitative, with quantitative and qualitative variables, which were transformed into quantitative using a scale. The survey was adopted as the method of procedure, using a questionnaire as a collection instrument, applied between May and September 2020. A sample was collected with 426 respondents, formed by inhabitants of the South, Southeast and Midwest regions of the country. For data analysis, descriptive and multivariate statistical analyzes were used, including correlations, factor and discriminant analyzes. The analyzes showed which variables related to the neighborhood and the neighborhood influence the individual’s satisfaction. It was also possible to analyze the differences between two groups in relation to the location of the housing. The results indicated the influence of privacy and appearance on satisfaction. Still, the need for services in the neighborhoods and the importance of maintaining public spaces can be observed. Finally, this research demonstrated the importance of understanding the needs and preferences of individuals in the context of their residential environments, as their perceptions about the environment influence residential satisfaction. Cities face constant changes and an increasing demand for infrastructure and services. This knowledge can serve as a basis for urban planning, só that governments prioritize the maintenance of urban spaces, with green areas, provide adequate basic and road infrastructure.
