This work arises from the interest in carrying out a historical contextualization identifying and discussing the actions carried out by the Secretary of Education of the State of Santa Catarina, from March 2020 to December 2020, aimed at teaching, more specifically mathematics teaching in state public schools in the state of Santa Catarina. period of the pandemic caused by Covid-19. The research problem refers to: What were the actions developed by the Secretary of Education of the State of Santa Catarina aimed at the development of mathematics classes in state public schools during the Covid-19 Pandemic in the 2020 school year? Did these actions favor the teaching of mathematics through remote classes? Are there any steps taken by the Secretary of Education of the State of Santa Catarina to improve the teaching-learning process in the 2020 school year during the pandemic during Covid-19? The study is part of a qualitative perspective, with a bibliographic design, contemplating document analysis of decrees, opinions, resolutions and ordinances issued by the Government of the State of Santa Catarina and by the State Council of Education, as well as the analysis of online contents prepared by the Secretary of Education, in partnership with the company GetEdu during the Covid-19 pandemic. Actions directly associated with teaching during remote classes are discussed, as well as some referrals that could have been proposed by the Santa Catarina State Department of Education in the period of remote teaching caused by Covid-19.
