This research aims to analyze the relationship between the agents of the secular state and the religious organizations in the process of granting subvention to religious services by using public properties in the pole municipalities of the Southwest Region of Paraná, from the perspective of reflexivity. In this sense, it was sought to understand through theoretical aspects of reflexive modernization theory, Anthony Giddens' structuration theory and Pierre Bourdieu's reflexive sociology, the process of interaction of action and structure in the practice of granting subventions to religious services that persist in the modern State. To develop this analysis, the methodological path stablished was based on the qualitative method, without sparing the quantitative one, and it involved the survey of subventions to public properties formalized in the inquired municipalities, from the Federal Constitution of 1988, toward religious services, by consulting the legislation available on official websites. Moreover, there was a documentary research carried out in the City Councils to analyze the legislative processes related to the collected laws, in order to map the social agents involved in the subventions and identify the justifications presented for the administrative acts performed. Lastly, interviews with social agents, whom by performance of duties or position in public bodies or religious organizations, could provide information that would help to understand the power of agency existing between actors of religious organizations and the State. Both the data collection and the analysis of the information obtained were carried out through the procedures of content analysis, which identified emerging categories of theory and field imbricated in the actions of agents in interaction with the structure, showing how social practices have been changing, adapting and reinventing, keeping the tradition and the religion alive, even if reframed in the process of reflexive modernization, with its continuities and discontinuities. In the end, it is concluded that in the relationship between state powers in the inquired municipalities and the religions, there is a reflexivity distinct from other social relations, because together with institutional reflexivity, the technical-punitive reflexivity is what in fact has caused changes in social practices both in scope of practical awareness as well as the habitus of mobilized agents
