Resumo: The aim of this paper is to present applications in arithmetic of content studied during the school stages of Basic Education. Exploring polygons and patterns reveals curious aspects that can be used to stimulate knowledge in the classroom. The Eratosthenes sieve with six columns presents another approach to identifying prime numbers. Visual models for teaching the maximum common divisor and the minimum common multiple are alternatives for understanding the content, facilitating the assimilation of abstract concepts. We also explored the visual resources for triangular numbers, Pythagorean triples and perfect numbers using GeoGebra software, which facilitates the appropriation of concepts through intuition. The proposed activities provide ideas that arouse the students’ curiosity and attention to the topics covered.

A exploração de polígonos e padrões revela aspectos curiosos aptos de utilização didática para estimular o conhecimento em sala de aula. O crivo de Eratóstenes com seis colunas apresenta uma outra abordagem para a identificação dos números primos. Os modelos visuais para o ensino do máximo divisor comum e o mínimo múltiplo comum são alternativas para a compreensão do conteúdo, facilitando a assimilação dos conceitos abstratos. Exploramos também, os recursos visuais para os números triangulares, triplas Pitagóricas e números perfeitos utilizando o software GeoGebra, que facilitam a apropriação dos conceitos por meio da intuição.
