Resumo em Inglês: The present research had by objective to comprehend how the health professionals of a Sanitary District in the city of Curitiba-PR have addressed the problematic of suicidal behavior in its area of coverage, and as specific objectives it has proposed itself to: 1) to identify the reasons that the professionals present for the elevated indices of the suicidal phenomenon nowadays; 2) to describe the difficulties they experience in having to provide care for those who present suicidal behavior; and 3) to know the actions adopted to users who enter the RAPS by an attempt of suicide, just as for the communal prevention of the suicide act. The information was collected through a semi-structured interview, with audio recording and based on a script of previously established questions. Fifteen health professionals from different professions participated, including 4 nurses, 2 psychologists, 3 community health agents, 1 social worker, 2 occupational therapists, 1 psychiatrist and 2 physicians. The interviews took place on the Psychosocial Care Center for Treatment of Mental Disorders (CAPS TM), in an Emergency Care Unit (UPA) and in a Basic Health Unit (UBS). In the analysis of the data the qualitative methodology was used, the answers of the interviews were submitted to the Analysis of Discursive Practices, according to Spink and Medrado (2004, 2013), which aims to elucidate the ways in which people, through language, produce meanings and position themselves in everyday social relations and in the institutionalized use of language. It presented as indispensable elements the statements oriented by speeches, forms and contents as interpretive repertoires based on the theoretical reference of Community Social Psychology (Montero, 2000, 2004a, 2004b; Serrano-Garcia et al., 1992, Sarriera, 2014) and of social constructionism (Gergen, 1997, 2010). The categories were analyzed: 1) reason for suicidal behavior; 2) difficulties encountered by professionals in their daily practices; and 3) actions in the care and prevention of suicide in the community. The study allowed concluding that the interviewed professionals understand that the postmodern society has promoted a social helplessness triggering feelings of isolation and vulnerability that can culminate in a suicidal act. They reported that they did not obtain sufficient professional capacitation assuring themselves to deal with the demand, just as occur considerable failures in the integrality principle in the RAPS that hinders the psychosocial care. They also identified a reduced number of professionals for care in the different health care points, as well as insufficient beds or vacancies as additional difficulties in the care process. As for prevention actions, they occur in its majority when the user joins the RAPS by an attempted suicide and in one-off actions in the UBS, however, they are not yet done at the communal level. The need to invest in the capacitation of health professionals so that they can better comprehend about the topic is highlighted, just as overcome the challenges with which themselves come across in RAPS in their daily exercises, in order to ensure care that strengthens the principles that orientate SUS, citizenship and citizens' rights.

Submitted by Divanete Paiva (divanete.paiva@utp.br) on 2018-07-26T13:38:28Z No. of bitstreams: 1 A ABORDAGEM AO.pdf: 1318455 bytes, checksum: 0641c2cd56d494ec2bfa2872caf808f5 (MD5)Made available in DSpace on 2018-07-26T13:38:28Z (GMT).
