It is estimated that in Brazil there are more than 2 million students in Basic Education with High Abilities or Giftedness, individuals who are guaranteed the right to resources and pedagogical strategies that meet their specific needs through the National Policy on Special Education. This support can be provided by schools themselves, whether public or private, or by institutions that run Educational Supplementation Programs in partnership with public agencies and private entities. This study aims to analyze the contribution of these programs to the development of creative competencies in young people with High Abilities or Giftedness, more specifically, seeking to understand which methodologies are employed and the relevance of their productions. In the first stage of the research, a bibliographic review was conducted on High Abilities or Giftedness and their relationship with the Creative Economy. In the second stage, field observations were carried out during visits to Supplementary Education Institutes in the cities of Rio de Janeiro and São José dos Campos. Finally, in-depth interviews were conducted with pedagogy professionals and managers from three Institutes. The research made it possible to identify how the Educational Supplementation Programs implemented by these Institutes contribute to the development of creative competencies in young people with High Abilities or Giftedness. The applicability of this work lies in its potential to raise awareness among public education managers about the importance of correctly identifying and serving a population with high potential for production in various areas of interest.
