Resumo: | Abnormalities of the abdominal wall are important aspects from both aesthetic and functional points-of-view, especially in women. Postural changes and symptoms, such as cervical and low back pain, after lipoabdominoplasty are still unknown. Objectives: To analyze short-term variations in posture and intensity of cervical and low back pain in women undergoing lipoabdominoplasty. Methods: This prospective, single-arm cohort study involved 13 women (age 44 ± 13 years, pre- surgical body mass index [BMIpre] 26.5 ± 3.7 kg/m2). Participants were assessed preoperatively (T0) and 15 (T15) and 30 days (T30) after surgery for clinical data (number of pregnancies, number of deliveries, pre-surgical body mass); cervical angles (between the horizontal line and the segment connecting the ear tragus and the seventh cervical vertebra) and lumbar angles (between the horizontal line of the greater trochanter of the femur and the segment of the line adjacent to the sacrum), calculated by photogrammetry; pain intensity by numerical pain scale. Postoperative complications were assessed at T15 and T30. Results: After adjusting for age and pre-surgical BMI, it was observed that the cervical angle tends to decrease in T15 and to return in T30 ( 54.20 − 0.54' + 0.02'! + 0.09,9- − 0,14:0/23- , marginal R2 = 0.415). Conversely, the lumbar angle tends to increase at T15 and return at T30 (87.23 + 0.67' − 0.02'! − 0.01,9- − 0.31:0/23-, marginal R2 = 0.320). No statistical evidence of significance was observed for the intensity of cervical (p 3 0.492) or lumbar (p 3 0.526) pain over the study period. Conclusions: Transient changes in cervical and lumbar posture are observed in the short term in women after lipoabdominoplasty and must be monitored during rehabilitation. No transient pain patterns were observed in these regions in the short term in this population. |

Alterações posturais e sintomas, como dores cervicais e lombares, após lipoabdominoplastia ainda permanecem desconhecidos. Objetivos: Analisar as variações a curto prazo da postura e intensidade da dor cervical e lombar em mulheres submetidas a lipoabdominoplastia. Métodos: Este estudo de coorte prospectivo de braço único envolveu 13 mulheres (idade 44 ± 13 anos, índice de massa corporal pré-cirúrgico [IMCpre] 26,5 ± 3,7 kg/m2). As participantes foram avaliadas no pré-operatório (T0) e 15 (T15) e 30 dias (T30) após a cirurgia quanto aos dados clínicos (número de gestações, número de partos, massa corporal pré-cirúrgica); ângulos cervical (entre a linha horizontal e o segmento que liga o trago da orelha e a sétima vértebra cervical) e lombar (entre a linha horizontal do trocanter maior do fêmur e o segmento da linha adjacente ao sacro), calculadas por fotogrametria; intensidade da dor por escala numérica de dor. Complicações pós-operatórias foram avaliadas em T15 e T30. Resultados: Após ajuste para idade e IMC pré-cirúrgico, foi observado que o ângulo cervical tende à diminuição em T15 e ao retorno em T30 (54,20 − 0,54' + 0,02'! + 0,09*+,+- − 0,14/0123-, R2 marginal = 0,415). Inversamente, o ângulo lombar tende ao aumento em T15 e e ao retorno em T30 (87,23 + 0,67' − 0,02'! − 0,01*+,+- − 0,31/0123-, R2 marginal = 0,320). Nenhuma evidência estatística de significância foi observada para a intensidade da dor cervical (p 3 0,492) ou lombar (p 3 0,526) ao longo do tempo de estudo. Conclusões: Alterações transientes na postural cervical e lombar, são observadas a curto prazo em mulheres após lipoabdominoplastia e devem ser acompanhadas durante a reabilitação.
