Resumo: | In recent years, digital transformation has caused structural changes in the global economy, affecting the competitiveness of companies in terms of innovation, efficiency, and global value chains. Companies are quickly adjusting to this new reality, often without a complete understanding of the phenomenon. Technologies such as artificial intelligence and the internet, along with new operational systems and hybrid work models, are being adopted. As digital technologies evolve, the demand for skills to use them efficiently and safely increases. The competencies of leaders in the digital age are constantly evolving, with attributes such as improvisation, decision-making agility, and adaptability standing out. Companies that adopt these strategies are more likely to acquire and retain customers and be more profitable. However, many face challenges in developing effective digital transformation strategies, requiring a complete review of processes and functions with a technological focus. The implementation of these advanced technologies and the management of new systems require changes in work configurations and the development of new competencies. Cognitive flexibility, essential in the new scenario, involves the ability to solve unforeseen problems and learn from mistakes. The development of new competencies, both technical (hard skills) and interpersonal (soft skills), is essential to meet the demands of digital companies. In this dissertation, a qualitative approach was used to investigate how social competencies are discussed in the context of digital transformation in organizations. The research highlights the importance of developing social and emotional competencies, such as emotion management and positive interaction, in the context of digital transformation. |

As empresas estão rapidamente se ajustando a essa nova realidade, muitas vezes sem uma compreensão completa do fenômeno. Tecnologias estão sendo adotadas, tais como a inteligência artificial e a internet, além de novos sistemas de operações e modelos de trabalho híbrido. À medida que as tecnologias digitais evoluem, cresce a demanda por habilidades para utilizá-las de maneira eficiente e segura. As competências dos líderes na era digital estão em constante evolução, destacando-se atributos como improvisação, agilidade na tomada de decisões e adaptação. Empresas que adotam essas estratégias têm maior probabilidade de adquirirem e reterem clientes, além de serem mais lucrativas. Entretanto, muitas enfrentam desafios para desenvolver estratégias eficazes de transformação digital, exigindo uma revisão completa de processos e funções com foco tecnológico. Com a implementação dessas tecnologias avançadas e a gestão de novos sistemas requerem mudanças nas configurações de trabalho e no desenvolvimento de novas competências. A flexibilidade cognitiva, essencial no novo cenário, envolve a capacidade de resolver problemas imprevistos e aprender com os erros. Por isso, o desenvolvimento de novas competências, tanto técnicas (hard skills) quanto interpessoais (soft skills) é essencial para atender às exigências das empresas digitais. Nesta dissertação, foi utilizada uma abordagem qualitativa para investigar como as competências sociais são discutidas no contexto da transformação digital nas organizações.
