Resumo: The objective of this in vitro study was to evaluate the surface roughness after three body wear and Vickers microhardness of direct composite resins with different sizes of inorganic filler particles, microhybrid Z250 and nano-filled Z350 and Supreme XT, which are fabricated by one company (3M ESPE, St Paul, Minessota, USA). Six specimens (n=6) of each composite resin were manufactured to be evaluated, in sequence, in each one of control, 6 months, 1 year and 2 years simulated toothbrushing periods. Three measurements of surface roughness Ra (μm) were realized for specimen after each simulation. One representative specimen was manufactured to each composite resin tested in each simulated toothbrushing period to be examinated in SEM. The minimums and maximums means values were 0. 14 μm control group Z350 composite resin and 0. 21 μm 1 year simulated toothbrushing period Z250. Were analyzed with ANOVA and Tukey ( =0. 05) and there was no significant statistically difference between the groups. The General Linear Model and Tukey ( =0. 05) was applied, with purpose to evaluated composite resin and time factors in surface roughness Ra (μm). There was significant statistically difference of control time roughness (0. 15 μm) in regard to 1 year time roughness (0. 19 μm), about the kind of composite resin, both nano-filled composite resins (0. 16 μm) had more homogeneous surface after three body wear than microhybrid (0. 19 μm).The photomicrographs did not show any difference among the three composite resins control group. However, the nano-filled 6 months, 1 year and 2 years simulated toothbrushing periods photomicrographs showed the most homogeneous surface. For Vickers microhardness, 5 specimens of each composite resin were manufactured (n=5). Means for Vickers microhardness (VHN) were: Z250 74. 44; Z350 73. 87; XT 78. 28. Data were statistically compared with ANOVA, and there was no significant difference between the means. The results of this study indicate that the nano-filled composite resins showed a similar behavior to microhybrid for Vickers microhardness, but had more homogeneous surface after three body wear.

Seis corpos-de-prova (n=6) foram confeccionados para cada resina composta (Supreme XT, Z250 e Z350) e submetidos, na seqüência, a cada período simulado de escovação (controle, 6 meses, 1 ano e 2 anos). Foram realizadas 3 leituras de rugosidade de superfície Ra (μm) em cada amostra após cada simulação (total=216). Foi confeccionado 1 corpode- prova representativo de cada período simulado de escovação para cada resina composta (total=12), a fim de que fosse observado em MEV. Os valores médios mínimos e máximos obtidos foram, respectivamente, de 0,14 μm (controle) para a resina Z350 e 0,21 μm (1 ano) para a resina Z250. Foi aplicada a análise de variância, seguida do teste de Tukey ( =0,05) e constatou-se que não houve diferença estatisticamente significante entre os grupos. A fim de avaliar a rugosidade em relação ao tempo e ao tipo de resina composta testada foi aplicado o modelo linear geral, seguido do teste de Tukey ( =0,05). Observou-se uma diferença estatisticamente significante da rugosidade no período controle (0,15 μm) em relação ao período de 1 ano (0,19 μm), com relação ao tipo de resina, ambas nanoparticuladas (0,16 μm) apresentaram-se significativamente menos rugosas que a microhíbrida (0,19 μm). Os aspectos morfológicos superficiais obtidos em MEV mostram que houve padrões semelhantes de desgaste entre as resinas compostas nos grupos controle. Após os períodos simulados de escovação de 6 meses, 1 ano e 2 anos, observou-se uma surperfície mais uniforme para as resinas compostas nanoparticuladas em relação à microhíbrida. Para a microdureza Vickers, 5 amostras para cada resina composta foram confeccionadas (n=5). As médias (VHN) foram: Z250 74,44; Z350 73,87; XT 78,28. Após análise de variância, observou-se que não houve diferença significante entre elas. Baseado nos resultados, concluiu-se que as resinas compostas nanoparticuladas (Z350, Supreme XT) obtiveram comportamento similar à microhíbrida (Z250) quanto à microdureza Vickers, porém, se apresentaram menos rugosas após a abrasão por escovação.Made available in DSpace on 2011-12-27T14:14:07Z (GMT).
