The present research analyzes the special education assured to the students who excel at a higher performance or potential. Through bibliographic and documentary research the panorama of the special education to the students with high abilities / giftedness (AH / SD) was verified, in the municipal system of education of Barro Alto- GO. The analysis has as scope the conceptions of education that the gospels bring referring to the formative action of Jesus, thus interacting, religion and educational culture. The theoretical reference adopted has as contribution the conceptions of Renzulli (2004, 2014) about endowment and talent, defined as capacities that individuals possess or potentials to be developed, and the theory of multiple intelligences of Gardner (1995) as intelligences that individuals possess and that can also be developed. For the theoretical educational foundations, contribute: Alencar (2007), Cupertino (2008), Fleith (2007), Virgolim (2007; 2014) and other researchers studying the area. Research methods are based on theoretical elements of special education, area legislations, gospels, and documentary research in the archives of educational organs and units. The results evidenced educational deficiencies in the attendance of students with high potential, since no action was developed in 2018 in the municipal education system. There is an urgent need for the implementation of actions related to information and training in the AH / SD area for both the school community and out-of-school community.
