Centralidades urbanas em Goiânia: o caso Jardim Goiás

With the accelerated process of globalization of the economy, the last decades have witnessed an intense urbanization, where the cities reaffirm their spaces, adapting to the changes. Based on capitalism, consumption of products and services, societies end up creating regions with a greater concentration of products and services in certain neighborhoods and regions. These regions that offer these products and services, and end up having a continuous flow of people, are called Centralities. The centralities can be created in a planned way, through projects executed by private power and approved by the public power, or arise according to the needs of that region, the population seeks the product and service, and the merchants and service providers start to offer these regions. Goiânia has several centralities in its metropolitan region. The centrality studied here is the Bairro Jardim Goiás, created in the 1950s, with a density and verticalization only from the end of the 1990s. Becoming an important center in the capital, the neighborhood has several services, shops, restaurants, bars, emporiums, supermarkets, pharmacies, concessionaires, among other services and products offered to the population of the neighborhood and surroundings. Shopping Flamboyant exerts a strong influence of capitalist consumption in the city. Another important asset of the area is the Flamboyant Municipal Park - Lourival Louza, created at the beginning of the XXI century, attracting investors from the real estate market, with launches of projects for the upper and upper middle class. The change in the profile of Jardim Goiás has been observed mainly in the last two decades, with the arrival of buildings of high standard, increase of the population and the flow of vehicles.
