This study aimed to understand the constitution of subjectivity and psychological distress associated with obesity. The main axis of the interview was on obesity, but for Ruth at the core of his story was his relationship with mother which forms the scene of psychopathology. To this end we attempted to rescue the function of the term pathic obesity through clinical perspective taking in consideration the fundamental psychopathology and psychoanalysis, in which he tried to rescue the passion, suffering and passivity of the subject. The research has been the clinical trial, which inspired Freud's method, which sought to understand the subjective demand of the interviewee. This suffering remains in adulthood, as Ruth identifies with her mother to become a woman, and then the body reappears as a stage of pain, and "obesity" appears to be a way to mirror the mother's body, which is not felt as responding to the demand of love. The human experience of Ruth is impregnated on a lack of love, neglect and causing suffering which refers to the desire of being the daughter, loved and cared for by the mother. For to be a woman must have been her daughter, had a reference, because you can not be it, who does not know what it is, or who never had. The lack of reference of love and femininity appear to be characterized in the body, we can think of "female barred" and the difficulty in doing woman (Campos, 2000).
