Religião e soropositivos para o HIV/AIDS: preconceitos sobre doença e sexualidade

In this thesis, it s analyzed the relationship between religion and the presence of bias in conceptions of illness, sexuality and idealization of family, in the case of HIV positive / AIDS (SSP / HIV / AIDS - Human Immunodeficiency Virus). Our purpose was understand what are repercussions on representations and configuration of families in which one or both spouses turn out to be HIV positive and what is the relationship between this repercussion and some possible ideas underlying religious identities of male and female and manner of the exercise of sexuality that such gender identity entails. To verify this fact, we decided to conduct a field survey, descriptive exploratory qualitative. The fieldwork took place through semi-structured interviews carried out with HIV positive people accepted by a non-governmental organization (NGO), in a suburb of Goiânia. The research took place in the period from January to September 2011. During the analysis, we believe that on the SPP / HIV / AIDS affects a long construction markedly biased from religious ideas on two important dimensions of human life: the sexuality and the disease. The religious backgrounds, particularly those from the Judeo- Christian tradition, have been contributed greatly as constituent elements of such a conception. The result of this construction is that associated with a conception of sexuality linked to a particular conception of life and death, the SPP / HIV / AIDS is an imminent risk, both physical and moral in current society. This way of conceptualizing the disease served as a pretext to remove it from the field of common diseases, transmuting it to the field of malignancies, where the SPP/HIV/AIDS is blamed and stigmatized. We observed a close relationship between the experience of such stigma and ways of coping with the seropositivity in the family. Approach, therefore, the fact that currently witnessing multiple family types and highlight the strong presence of bias with regard to sexuality, and especially regarding the issue of homosexuality.
