Resumo: This work aims to discuss how the diagnostics of the determinants of the fear and the feeling of insecurity, as well as the connections and implications of the effects of the phenomenon of violence, can collaborate with the public security policies. This understanding helped on the impact of such feelings in urban life, within the framework of two interconnected cities spatially: Goiânia and Aparecida de Goiânia. The effort of this review fell on violence and its effects in the city, notably the fear and the feeling of insecurity present in Aparecida de Goiania which is, in this survey, the city seen in the metropolitan context. Its conurbation with the capital of Goiânia, city-centre of the metropolitan area, flared up a close relationship of dependency between both. Discussing these concepts historically and inserting them in the segregation and social vulnerabilities, we associated the feelings and the perspectives of local victimization to the perceptions of violence, fear and insecurity in cities like Aparecida de Goiânia.

Esta compreensão auxiliou na repercussão desses sentimentos na vida urbana, no âmbito de duas cidades interligadas espacialmente: Goiânia e Aparecida de Goiânia. O esforço desta análise recaiu sobre a violência e os seus efeitos na cidade, notadamente o medo e o sentimento de insegurança presentes em Aparecida de Goiânia, que é, nesta pesquisa, a cidade analisada no contexto metropolitano. Sua conurbação com a capital de Goiânia, cidade-pólo da Região Metropolitana, deflagrou uma estreita relação de dependência entre ambas. Discutindo esses conceitos historicamente e inserindo-os na segregação e vulnerabilidades sociais, relacionaram-se os sentimentos e perspectivas de vitimização locais às percepções da violência, do medo e da insegurança em cidades como Aparecida de Goiânia.Made available in DSpace on 2016-08-10T10:50:04Z (GMT).
