Aparecida de Goiânia: uma história de desafios

Similar to the formation process of the urban centers of the 19th century, the village of Aparecida has its origin in 1922 through religious pretensions, in which local farmers donated land and materials for the construction of a chapel, and also for economic aspects, for being between the city of Campinas and the district of Santo Antônio das Grimpas, current Hidrolândia. In this way, the construction of the chapel with simple houses around it initiates the urban transformations of this place that, for almost 100 years, has undergone movements of growth, deterioration and revitalization that were extensively studied by researchers, who sought to understand the reflexes of these movements in the territorial, political and economic expansion, ignoring, however, the historical understanding of this place. Taking this gap into account, through photographic and documentary analysis, this work aimed to identify when, how and what were the agents that influenced the transformation of Aparecida de Goiânia. The research resulted in the elaboration of a chronological line that aims to temporally organize the interventions that occurred in the foundational nucleus of Aparecida from its creation to the present day. It was possible to conclude that the history of Aparecida de Goiânia was drowned out by the history of Goiânia to the point of linking its name to the name of the capital, which brought problems of belonging of its citizens to the city and, consequently, the neglect with historic buildings that come being replaced by new buildings
