Developing analyzes of literature is always a complex activity, because it involves different concepts and perceptions, under the view of each reader. Thinking about this, this study was proposed with the aim of discussing the concepts of existence and absurdity in the light of works by Albert Camus, verses Leandro Gomes de Barros. As specific objectives, the need to present the history and life of Albert Camus, highlighting his notion of existence and absurdity, as well as highlighting Leandro Gomes de Barros's life and publications history, specifically directed to existence and absurdity, as well as to show how these two authors maintain similar and at the same time distinct perceptions regarding the nature and meaning of the terms 'existence' and 'absurdity'. In order to do so, a review of the literature dealing with the subject matter was developed, based on the collection, selection and analysis of publications on the subject, in books, magazines and scientific articles made available on the Internet, under public domain, in banks of different data. It is verified that under Camus's eye, the connection that unites man to the world is considered based on the confrontation of the idea of existence and absurd, since the author points out differences in the reality experienced by individuals, which is full of consequences of the actions practiced by each being, thus dealing with an inverse relationship of existence and absurdity. On the other hand, Barros presents a notion similar to that of Camus, but in a comic approach, raising lighter questions regarding human existence and his experiences, which makes his texts present the absurd with a softer notion of what is really experienced by man on a daily basis. It is concluded that Camus treats the existence and the absurd under a sad, tense, rigid look, while Barros approaches the same object from a comic and light vision, so that the reader can integrate itself smoothly to its texts
