Resumo: The research presented here aims to provoke discussion around the themes: Education and Work. The Phenomenon investigated presents itself through the increased enrollment in higher education especially private institutions and courses lasting up to two years. The relevance of the theme expands to the discussion about social odds and no democratization of higher education. The main objective of the research is to identify through subjective speech, the reasons for entry in higher education. To achieve these objectives this study is guided in Social Psychology under the socio-historical approach and from them the categories of meaning: Work, Education and Identity Professional. The socio-historical method was chosen, and the authors Vygotsky (1896-1934), González -Rey (2010) and Furtado (2007), were used as reference for theoretical foundation. During the analysis, feelings were identified: angst, happiness, joy and overcoming. Get a college degree makes these young people potentially transformed by education, more aware of the world they live in, and also more competitive in the labor market

A relevância do tema abarca questões que se estendem à desigualdade social e a não democratização da educação no país. O objetivo central da pesquisa é identificar, por meio do discurso subjetivo, os sentidos e significados do ingresso em maior proporção no ensino superior de jovens trabalhadores. Para alcançar tais objetivos, este estudo se pautou na Psicologia Social, por meio da abordagem sócio-histórica, e, a partir dela, baseou-se nas categorias de sentido: Trabalho, Educação e Identidade Profissional. O método sócio-histórico foi o eleito, e os autores Vigotski (1896-1934), González-Rey (2010) e Furtado (2007), foram utilizados como referência para fundamentação teórica. Durante a análise, foram identificados sentimentos de: revolta, felicidade, alegria e superação.
