Resumo: The research relates to questions about the theme of subjectiveness, from a perspective which recovers some Marx conceptions, seeking to surpass the dicotomy that have marked the debate of this question in the social science area, especially regarding the reverberation, in the social work, of the positivism and structuralism. The path choosen considered as initial analytical categories the work and the alienation, then expanding through the dense and extensive analysis done by Lucien Sève, denominated biography science, to other perspectives in the philosophy area, dealing with psychology as a science that need to be fit to a historical-materialistic perspective. The field research consisted of interviews when six social assistants, who work in the public health area were asked to relate their life histories, especifically with the implementation and execution of the "Programa de Saúde da Família" (Family Health Program), in the surrounding region of São Paulo - Brasilândia/Freguesia do Ó, through methodological resources of Oral History. Themes that emerged more remarkably were treated in theory and comprehended excerpts about romanticism, family, religion and politics. The final considerations intend to translate in theory the results of the analysis undertaken

The final considerations intend to translate in theory the results of the analysis undertakenA pesquisa trata de questões relativas à temática da subjetividade, a partir de uma perspectiva que recupera algumas concepções de Marx, buscando superar a dicotomia que marcou o debate dessa questão no campo das ciências sociais, especialmente quanto ao rebatimento, no serviço social, do positivismo e do estruturalismo. O percurso empreendido considerou como categorias analíticas iniciais o trabalho e a alienação, expandindo-se, através da densa e extensa análise realizada por Lucien Sève, denominada ciência da biografia, para outras perspectivas do campo da filosofia, tratando a psicologia enquanto uma ciência que necessita ser apropriada numa perspectiva materialista-histórica. A pesquisa de campo foi realizada através de entrevistas em que foram solicitados os relatos das histórias de vida de seis assistentes sociais que trabalham na área da saúde pública, especificamente com a implantação e execução das ações do Programa de Saúde da Família, na região periférica da cidade de São Paulo - Subprefeitura Brasilandia/Freguesia do Ó -, através dos aportes metodológicos da História Oral. Os temas que irromperam de forma mais marcante foram tratados teoricamente e compreenderam excertos sobre o romantismo, família, religiosidade e política.
