Resumo: | This study aims to discuss the qualification in social work in the form of Distance Education (DE). The growth in quantitative distance superior courses is aligned with the educational policy implemented by the federal government since the mandate of Fernando Henrique Cardoso, with continuity in the government of Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva and Dilma Roussef. The need to promote massively the access of students to universities was achieved by encouraging the opening and expansion of private Higher Education Institutions (HEI), and courses in this modality, especially in the last decade. The supply growth of distance learning courses has two faces: on the one hand, encourages the private education sector, in which education is sold as a commodity, often without due concern for their quality. On the other hand, it is the opportunity of higher education to a significant number of students who have not had access to classroom courses. In the case of Social Work, distance graduation is seen as part of a process of impoverishment of the qualification, and the profession, through their unions, is positioned unfavorably to the DE. However, currently the distance courses cover most of the social work students, which leads us to question whether the confrontation stance on such courses from the category of social workers is the best strategy in the struggle for quality of professional qualification. In this regard, we consider it is required to demonstrate the representativeness of DE in the scene of qualification in Social Work in Brazil, as well as know the qualification this courses offer. For this, we conducted a qualitative research, seeking to discuss the DE from different points of view, presenting the current situation of Higher Education in the country with emphasis on distance learning courses in Social Work. For this, we use data from the Census of Higher Education carried out by the Ministry of Education (MEC). In the field research, we aimed to know the qualification offered in some of these courses, considering the perspective of the subjects inserted in this process: coordinators, students and social workers graduated in distance learning courses. The contact with the subject was made with instrumental like group interview and online survey. Our aim is to discuss qualification in Social Work through DE, seeking to present new elements beyond the antagonism of opinions that characterize the discussions about this subject because we believe that the debate about the importance of quality in professional qualification should cover all forms of education |

Our aim is to discuss qualification in Social Work through DE, seeking to present new elements beyond the antagonism of opinions that characterize the discussions about this subject because we believe that the debate about the importance of quality in professional qualification should cover all forms of educationO presente estudo tem o objetivo de problematizar a respeito da formação em Serviço Social na modalidade de Educação a distância (EaD). A crescente ampliação de cursos superiores a distância está alinhada com a política educacional empreendida pelo governo federal desde o mandato de Fernando Henrique Cardoso, com continuidade no governo de Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva e Dilma Roussef. O reconhecimento da necessidade de promover o acesso dos estudantes às universidades massivamente foi concretizado através do incentivo à abertura e ampliação de Instituições de Ensino Superior (IES) privadas, e de cursos nesta modalidade, especialmente na última década. O crescimento da oferta de cursos à distância apresenta duas faces: por um lado, fomenta o setor educacional privado, no qual a educação é vendida como mercadoria, muitas vezes sem a devida preocupação com sua qualidade. Por outro, representa a oportunidade de formação superior a um número significativo de estudantes que não tiveram acesso aos cursos presenciais. No caso do Serviço Social, a graduação à distância é entendida como parte de um processo de precarização da formação, e a profissão, por meio de suas entidades representativas, posiciona-se de modo desfavorável à EaD. Porém, atualmente, os cursos à distância abarcam a maior parte dos estudantes de Serviço Social, o que nos leva a questionar se a postura de enfrentamento a tais cursos por parte da categoria de assistentes sociais é a melhor estratégia na luta pela qualidade da formação profissional. Neste sentido, consideramos necessário demonstrar a representatividade da EaD no cenário da formação em Serviço Social no Brasil, assim como conhecer a formação que estes cursos ofertam. Para isso, realizamos uma pesquisa qualitativa, buscando discutir a EaD sob diferentes pontos de vista, apresentando o panorama atual do Ensino Superior do país com ênfase nos cursos a distância em Serviço Social. Para isso, utilizando os dados dos Censos do Ensino Superior realizados pelo Ministério da Educação (MEC). Na pesquisa de campo objetivamos conhecer a formação ofertada em alguns destes cursos, considerando a perspectiva dos sujeitos inseridos neste processo: coordenadores, estudantes e assistentes sociais graduadas em cursos à distância. O contato com os sujeitos foi feito a partir de instrumentais como a entrevista em grupo e questionários online. Nosso intuito é discutir a formação em Serviço Social por meio da EaD, buscando apresentar novos elementos que ultrapassem o antagonismo de opiniões que caracteriza as discussões acerca da EaD, pois entendemos que o debate sobre a importância da qualidade na formação profissional deve abranger todas as modalidades de educaçãoCoordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superiorapplication/pdfhttp://tede2.pucsp.br/tede/retrieve/39781/Priscila%20Cristina%20da%20Silva.pdf.jpgporPontifícia Universidade Católica de São PauloPrograma de Estudos Pós-Graduados em Serviço SocialPUC-SPBrasilFaculdade de Ciências SociaisEnsino superiorEducação a distânciaFormação profissionalHigher educationDistance educationProfessional qualificationCNPQ::CIENCIAS SOCIAIS APLICADAS::SERVICO SOCIALA formação em Serviço Social na modalidade de Educação a Distância (EAD)The qualification in Social Work in the form of Distance Education (DE)info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersioninfo:eu-repo/semantics/masterThesisinfo:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessreponame:Repositório Institucional da PUC_SPinstname:Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo (PUC-SP)instacron:PUC_SPTEXTPriscila Cristina da Silva.pdf.txtPriscila Cristina da Silva.pdf.txtExtracted texttext/plain489017https://repositorio.pucsp.br/xmlui/bitstream/handle/19058/4/Priscila%20Cristina%20da%20Silva.pdf.txtd5bb32140548b956c664a16af51e223bMD54LICENSElicense.txtlicense.txttext/plain;
