Resumo: | This research brings to discuss the latest curriculum proposal of the São Paulo State Department of Education "Sao Paulo faz Escola" and to examine the students‟ perception from high school on this proposal. For this, the study also wants to know who is this high school student from the evening of a school located in the peripheral eastern zone of São Paulo City. The research attempted to answer the following questions: Young people of high school know the current proposal São Paulo faz Escola ? How these young people perceive and react about this proposal? What are the advances that have been identified in relation to learning the mathematics contents? The study focused two themes: the perception of students on the project "São Paulo faz Escola" and the prospect of progress in relation to learning mathematics. It was adopted a qualitative approach, interpretative and descriptive nature and the data collection was done by means of a questionnaire to sixty-five students and intensive interviews with six students, and document analysis. The data revealed that most students don‟t know the proposal and it was not adequately explained by teachers and indicated little change in teaching and learning mathematics. This research can point out that high school needs a restructuring, in quality of education, rules to live, to a significant learning and a curriculum proposal consistent with the wishes and needs of these students |

Para isso, o estudo também buscou conhecer quem é esse aluno do Ensino Médio que frequenta o período noturno de uma escola localizada na região periférica da Zona Leste da cidade de São Paulo. A pesquisa tentou responder às seguintes questões: Os jovens do Ensino Médio conhecem a atual proposta São Paulo faz escola? Como esses jovens percebem e reagem frente a essa proposta? Quais os avanços que foram identificados em relação à aprendizagem dos conteúdos de matemática? O estudo privilegiou dois eixos temáticos: a percepção dos alunos sobre o Projeto São Paulo faz escola e a perspectiva de avanços em relação à aprendizagem em matemática. Foi adotada a abordagem qualitativa, de cunho descritivo interpretativo e a coleta de dados realizou-se por meio de questionário para sessenta e cinco alunos e entrevistas intensivas junto a seis alunos, além de análise documental. Os dados revelaram que a maioria dos alunos desconhece a proposta e que ela não foi devidamente elucidada pelos professores e indicaram perceber poucas mudanças no ensino e aprendizagem em matemática.
