Resumo: This paper aims to conduct a critical study of the Incident of Resolution of Repetitive Claims (IRDR), introduced in the Brazilian Civil Procedure Code of 2015 (CPC/2015), and propose suggestions to improve its application in practice. To this end, it takes into consideration the influences of other procedural institutes on the IRDR, the historical and legislative context that originated it, the goals behind its creation and its framework in the system of precedents. From this, questions are made about CPC/2015’s option to create a figure such as the IRDR, legal consequences generated by it, possibility of filing appeals against its judgment and interpretation of its rules. At the end of the work, there is a series of "good practice proposals" to contribute to the use of IRDR as a means of ensuring legal certainty and uniformity of jurisprudence, serving as a useful tool for judges, lawyers and people

Para tanto, leva em consideração as influências de outros institutos processuais sobre o IRDR, o contexto histórico e legislativo que o originou, os objetivos por trás de sua criação e o seu enquadramento no sistema de precedentes. A partir disso, são feitos questionamentos sobre a opção do CPC/2015 em criar uma figura como o IRDR, as consequências jurídicas geradas por ele, a possibilidade de interpor recursos contra seu julgamento e a interpretação de suas normas.
