The city of São Paulo has always been part of its population living in poor housing. With housing precarious ness of attributes, the slums are part of the history of the city of São Paulo, with more ofthe social problems and economic in quality that hás always affected the city. Since the final decades of sec. XIX until the present day, the cortiços are housing alternatives of the lower classes. The sevillas have many precarious as sever al on fined families, house hold swith small, poor health due to insufficient ventilation and lighting, achievement in one room of the functions of cooking, sleeping and watching TV, generating hence the lack of privacy . The paper analyzes the vulnerability housing conditions in slums. How to study two tenements object locatedat the intermediatering in the capital city, one in the neigh borhood of Carrao and the other at Parque São Lucas neigh borhood. It is known that the high est concentration of slums is in the central are a and interior of São Paulo city and various studies were performed in this region, so the region selected for this study was the intermediatering of São Paulo, which is characterized as the place "divides" the central and peripheral of the city. The evolution of the concept of vulnerability expressed the difficulty of synthes is associated with the phenomen a observed that, in turn, tend to reflectan in herent multidimensionality. In addition to attention to environmental as pects actual economic, social, cultural and political be come progressively considered and integrated in to the concepts and reflections. The approach used in this thesis as the concept of vulnerability turns to socioeconomic pressures. This study is exploratory and ethnographic, as we approach phenomena in their environment, collecting information through frequent contact with participants. We selected four families, two one achtenement. In addition to the families selected random 8 residents of eachtenement that divide the room of tenwit hunknown and alllived in others tates of Brazil to try to better living conditions. Our results indicate that thereis a great precarious ness in shared housing and the vulnerability is explicit in the case ofthe risks that residents are exposed. Theyknow, understandand realize that they are exposed to this vulnerability, but is unable to seek other alternatives and type of property. The vulnerability is eminent in residents and that this context of "provisional eternal" difficult and inhibits alternatives to improve the quality of life and housing
