Resumo: The objective of the present study is to carry out a systematic review of the literature to evaluate the accuracy of the surgical procedures of mentoplasty, to evaluate the quality of the current literature and the need for new methodologies on the subject. The systematic search in the literature was carried out in the databases PubMed, EMBASE, and Cochrane Library. The gray literature was investigated in Google Scholar. The articles found were independently selected and eligible by two authors. After the selection of the eligible studies, a manual search was made on the references of these, data extraction and quality analysis were done. Through the search in the databases were found 807 articles. Of these 18 were selected for reading in full and five were included in the study. Through the search in the gray literature, three articles were selected for reading in full and only one was included in the study and from the manual search an article was included. Thus, seven studies were included in this systematic review. The level of agreement between the authors for the selection of studies (kappa = 0.757) and for eligibility (kappa = 0.769) was considered substantial. The accuracy in the surgical procedure of mentoplasty using the computer assisted planning method and the use of surgical guides in the translational aspect was less than 1.1 mm (sagittal direction) and in the rotational aspect was less than 4.53 ? (pitch) for segmented mitralplasty and less than 2.63 ? (pitch) for mentoplasty with a bone segment. One study had a low potential for bias risk, four studies had average potential for bias risk, and two studies had high potential for bias risk. Based on the studies included in this systematic review of the literature, it is suggested that the surgical procedure of mentoplasty be performed with the Computer-Aided Surgical Simulation and the use of surgical guides made from CAD / CAM technology.

No. of bitstreams: 1 ANDRE_EDUARDO_LEMOS_DIS.pdf: 588306 bytes, checksum: 6e2dcbbc41cd07364b31d42fd1d073cf (MD5)Approved for entry into archive by Caroline Xavier (caroline.xavier@pucrs.br) on 2019-06-25T18:21:15Z (GMT) No. of bitstreams: 1 ANDRE_EDUARDO_LEMOS_DIS.pdf: 588306 bytes, checksum: 6e2dcbbc41cd07364b31d42fd1d073cf (MD5)Made available in DSpace on 2019-06-25T18:30:23Z (GMT).
