Since the most recent pandemic (COVID-19), experienced on a global scale, issues related to innovation have gained considerable relevance. Whether through innovations generated for business improvement and continuity or through disruptive innovations, it is essential for survival in the market. Given this ambidexterity and the need for evolutionary transformations, timeliness in innovation management goes beyond the competitive advantage. In this context, to fill the gaps identified for this type of management, this work proposed a mixed methodological approach, using qualitative and descriptive research on the main concepts of innovation and the innovation readiness models selected for study. From this perspective, understanding what level of readiness for innovation a given element is at becomes fundamental for assertive action, and proposing a framework to measure levels of readiness for innovation in IFB is the general objective of this research is the general objective of this research. The results of this work allowed, through the exploratory analysis of the mapped models, the development of a proposed conceptual framework, which makes it possible to assess the level of readiness for innovation of a given element, which is minimally applicable in financial institutions in Brazil. This framework developed using an approach adapted to the Design Science Research method was selected. The conceptual framework resulted in a calculator to check innovation readiness levels, which was subjected to a preliminary assessment by innovation experts from a Brazilian Financial Institution, aiming to verify its applicability in the respective sector. The analysis of the interviewees' contributions brought clarity regarding the importance of using this type of instrument for innovation management, even though the proposed framework still needs validation applied in future studies. This work contributed with an artifact to evaluate the readiness of innovative products and services to be offered by a Brazilian Financial Institution. From a future perspective, it is suggested that the calculator be applied to innovative projects submitted to Brazilian financial institutions.
