Permanência na educação a distância: fatores que contribuem para o êxito dos estudantes

Resumo: The present study covers reflections on the growth of Distance Education in Brazil, as well as on the factors of permanence of students in Higher Education in this modality. In this perspective, the main objective of this research is to analyze factors, that contribute to the permanence of the students of the Pedagogy course in distance learning modality of a private higher education institute of the Federal District. Firstly, the research started with the objective of contextualizing the growth of the offer of courses in the teaching from a distance modality in Brazil, soon after we sought to identify the profile of the students enrolled in the last year of the course and finally, we sought to identify which factors contribute to the permanence of the students. The theoretical basis was anchored in authors such as Professor Pricila Kohls dos Santos, Vincent Tinto and José Moran. The research had a mixed approach, of qualitative and quantitative nature, with the aim of presenting a more general picture about the studied theme. Regarding the methodological procedures we were used bibliographic research, documentary and empirical analysis as well as the quantification of the data collected in order to understand and measure them numerically, in addition to conducting content analysis as provided by Bardin (2016). The instrument used in data collection was an online questionnaire, which it was available to students, in the same way that an interview was conducted with the teachers of the respective course. The results of the research indicate that in addition to the management of the institution, the quality of the course, the teaching practice and the dedication of the student, what contributed most to the permanence of this group of students was the need to finish the course to improve their salary income and their social reality.

Nesse sentido, a pesquisa tem como objetivo geral analisar os fatores que contribuem para a permanência dos estudantes do curso de Pedagogia na modalidade EaD de uma IES privada do Distrito Federal. A princípio, a pesquisa partiu com o objetivo de contextualizar o crescimento da oferta de cursos na modalidade EaD no Brasil, logo após, buscamos identificar o perfil dos estudantes matriculados no último ano do curso e por fim, procuramos identificar quais os fatores que contribuem para a permanência dos estudantes. A fundamentação teórica esteve ancorada em autores como a profa. Pricila Kohls dos Santos, Vicent Tinto e José Moran. A pesquisa teve uma abordagem de cunho qualitativo, com o objetivo de apresentar um quadro geral sobre o tema estudado. Em relação aos procedimentos metodológicos, nos utilizamos da pesquisa bibliográfica, análise documental e empírica bem como a quantificação dos dados coletados com o intuito de compreendê-los e mensurá-los numericamente, além da realização da análise de conteúdo como previsto por Bardin (2016). O instrumento utilizado na coleta de dados foi um questionário on-line disponibilizado aos estudantes, da mesma maneira que foi realizada uma entrevista com os docentes do curso.
