Resumo: The research is grounded in the study of post-mortem inventories of the Drover de Castro Museum, the Paraná. The aim is to analyze these documents and from there information that demonstrate the value assigned to slaves and their importance in the composition of wealth expressed in inventories. This will demonstrate how the economy of Paraná and Minas fields was integrated into the trading system of the Empire. To get to this answer, is necessary to build a dialogue between other factors, as the end of the transatlantic slave trade, the business dynamics wrapped coffee and gold mining and tropeirismo. This, incidentally, appears as the connecting factor of the southern economy and the commercial interests of São Paulo and Minas Gerais, integrating factor that permeates society Campos Gerais. Having focused on the historiography of the economy, is not ruled out the use and reading of other materials that can assist research.

O objetivo é analisar esses documentos e a partir daí obter informações que demonstrem o valor atribuído aos escravos e a sua importância na composição da riqueza expressa nos inventários. Isso demonstrará como a economia do Paraná, e dos Campos Gerais estava integrada ao sistema comercial do Império. Para se chegar a esta resposta, é necessária a construção de um diálogo entre outros fatores, como o fim do tráfico negreiro transatlântico, a dinâmica comercial envolta ao café e a mineração de ouro e o tropeirismo. Esse, aliás, aparece como o fator de ligação da economia sulina com os interesses comerciais de São Paulo e Minas Gerais, fator de integração que permeia a sociedade dos Campos Gerais.
