Resumo: Introduction:The Brazilian penitentiary system is marked by serious structural and organizational difficulties, mainly reflected by overcrowding in prisons and unhealthy prisons. These characteristics represent ideal conditions for the spread of various diseases, including tuberculosis. For this reason, the population deprived of liberty is one of the groups at risk for tuberculosis, being one of the priorities worked on in the Unified Health System.Methodology:This is an analytical, exploratory study of a historical series, with a quantitative approach. It was carried out with the population composed of all notifications of tuberculosis cases diagnosed in the population deprived of liberty in prisons in a state in the Northeast of Brazil in the period from 2009 to 2019, including those deprived of liberty of both sexes, and who were notified in SINAN. The study consisted of two articles with the need to use two samples to meet the objectives of both. Initially, descriptive statistical analysis was performed characterizing the sample, Pearson's chi-square test was used to determine the association between the outcome and the independent variables, Poisson regression analysis was also performed, which determines the magnitude of the associations . Then analysis of temporal trend was used to evaluate the data through the creation of polynomial regression models.Results:With regard to age group, the findings reveal that 50.3% were between 18 and 27 years old, 97.6% male, and the vast majority of 96.6% presented the form of pulmonary tuberculosis. The years with the highest notifications were 2017 and 2018, and the year with the highest incidence was 2019.Final considerations: The present study evidences and reaffirms the magnitude of tuberculosis in the population deprived of liberty, the findings show a high number of tuberculosis cases in this population. Thus, it is clear that advances in the conduct of tuberculosis control in prisons are fundamental. This advance will only be possible by sensitizing the prison health teams and other professionals in these units and also involving the population about the importance of controlling the disease within the prison walls, thereby creating and implementing public policies for this population and understanding their particularities, improving health conditions and consequently controlling the disease in the entire population.

Por esse motivo, a população privada de liberdade integra um dos grupos de risco para a tuberculose, sendo uma das prioridades trabalhadas no Sistema Único de Saúde. Metodologia:Trata-se de um estudo analítico, exploratório de uma série histórica, com abordagem quantitativa. Foi realizado com a população composta por todas as notificações de casos de tuberculose diagnosticados na população privada de liberdade em unidades prisionais de um estado do Nordeste Brasileiro no período de 2009 a 2019, incluídos os privados de liberdade de ambos os sexos, e que foram notificados no SINAN. O estudo foi composto por dois artigos havendo a necessidade de utilizar duas amostras para responder aos objetivos de ambos. Inicialmente realizou-se a análise estatística descritiva caracterizando a amostra, empregou-se o teste qui-quadrado de Pearson para determinar a associação entre o desfecho e as variáveis independentes, realizou-se também analise de regressão de Poisson o que determina a magnitude das associações. Em seguida analise de tendência temporal foi empregada para avaliar os dados através da criação de modelos de regressão polinominal. Resultados:No que se refere a faixa etária, os achados revelam que 50,3% tinham de 18 a 27 anos de idade, 97,6% do sexo masculino, e em sua grande maioria 96,6% apresentando a forma de tuberculose pulmonar. Os anos de maiores notificações foram 2017 e 2018, e o ano de maior incidência foi de 2019.Considerações finais: O presente estudo evidência e reafirma a magnitude da tuberculose na população privada de liberdade, os achados mostram um número elevado de casos de tuberculose para tal população. Desta forma percebe-se que é fundamental avanços na condução do controle de tuberculose nas unidades prisionais. Avanço esse só será possível sensibilizando as equipes de saúde prisional e demais profissionais destas unidades e também envolvendo a população quanto a importância do controle da doença por dentro dos muros das prisões,com isso criar e implementar as políticas públicas para essa população e compreender suas particularidades,melhorando as condições de saúde e consequentemente o controle da doença em toda população.Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior - CAPESapplication/pdfUniversidade Estadual da ParaíbaPrograma de Pós-Graduação em Saúde Pública - PPGSPUEPBBRPró-Reitoria de Pós-Graduação e Pesquisa - PRPGPPró-Reitoria de Pós-Graduação e Pesquisa - PRPGPTuberculosisPrisonsTime SeriesENFERMAGEMCIENCIAS DA SAUDETuberculoseSéries TemporaisPrisõesSérie histórica dos casos de tuberculose em unidades prisionais período 2009 a 2019info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersioninfo:eu-repo/semantics/masterThesisFook, Sayonara Maria Liahttp://lattes.cnpq.br/7345227795611597Silva, Talina Carlahttp://orcid.org/0000-0001-8859-1738http://lattes.cnpq.br/1386411473907330Figueiredo, Tânia Maria Ribeiro Monteirohttp://lattes.cnpq.br/4012484326422419http://lattes.cnpq.br/0528803506444078Falcão, Priscilla Kelly Policarpoinfo:eu-repo/semantics/embargoedAccessporreponame:Repositório Institucional da Universidade Estadual da Paraíba (UEPB)instname:Universidade Estadual da Paraíba (UEPB)instacron:UEPBLICENSElicense.txtlicense.txttext/plain;
