Resumo: Pharmaceutical products are one of the most important sources responsible for water contamination, with an emphasis on veterinary antibiotics as their use has increased significantly in recent years. Veterinary oxytetracycline (OTC) is one of the most consumed antibiotics and has an important impact on the environment, however it is a persistent substance in conventional water and sewage treatments. Therefore, the present study aims to remove OTC from contaminated waters through an alternative technology that is distillation via solar energy, this technology consists of a low-cost and easy-to-operate system. A waterfall-type solar distiller was used to treat the contaminated water, this water was collected from an artesian well in the city of Barra de Santana/PB and combined with the antibiotic at a concentration of 30 mg.L-1, 45 mg.L-1 and 60 mg.L-1. Water characterization was carried out before and after the distillation process, due to the quantification of OTC in the water and physical-chemical analyses. In addition, water temperatures and glass temperatures were monitored, as well as data on ambient temperature, incidence of solar radiation, wind speed, relative humidity and distillate production. The internal and external heat transfer coefficients were determined. After the distillation process, the system was able to remove OTC in a range from 89.84% to more than 99.67% and water production reached 3,025.40 mL.m-2.day-1, in this day the incidence of average solar radiation was 628.38 W.m-2, following this, the maximum daily thermal efficiency obtained was 48.71%. Furthermore, considering the physical-chemical analyzes of contaminated and distilled water, maximum reductions in chloride content of 99.74%, electrical conductivity of 99.87% and maximum reduction level of 100% for total hardness, sodium and potassium were achieved. in distilled water, reaching values in accordance with the potability standards required by the current Ministry of Health Ordinance. The annual unit cost of drinking water is estimated at 0.11 R$.L-1.m2. It is concluded that the solar distillation system used has a real capacity to remove OTC and produce water to serve small communities in locations where there is a high incidence of solar radiation.

The annual unit cost of drinking water is estimated at 0.11 R$.L-1.m2. It is concluded that the solar distillation system used has a real capacity to remove OTC and produce water to serve small communities in locations where there is a high incidence of solar radiation.Os produtos farmacêuticos são uma das fontes mais importantes responsáveis pela contaminação da água, com ênfase aos antibióticos veterinários pois seu uso aumentou significativamente nos últimos anos. A oxitetraciclina (OTC) veterinária é um dos antibióticos mais consumidos e com importante inserção no meio ambiente, contudo é uma substância persistente aos tratamentos convencionais de água e esgoto. Logo, o presente estudo visa remover a OTC de águas contaminadas através de uma tecnologia alternativa que é a destilação via energia solar, essa tecnologia consiste em um sistema de baixo custo e fácil operação. Um destilador solar do tipo cascata foi utilizado para tratar a água contaminada, essa água foi coletada em poço artesiano na cidade de Barra de Santana/PB e combinada com o antibiótico em concentração de 30 mg.L-1, 45 mg.L-1 e 60 mg.L-1. A caracterização da água foi realizada antes e após o processo de destilação, em virtude da quantificação de OTC na água e das análises físico-químicas. Além disso, foram monitoradas as temperaturas da água e temperaturas do vidro, assim como os dados de temperatura ambiente, incidência de radiação solar, velocidade do vento, umidade relativa do ar e a produção de destilado. Os coeficientes de transferência de calor interno e externo foram determinados. Após o processo de destilação, o sistema foi capaz de remover a OTC em uma faixa de 89,84% a mais de 99,67% e a produção de água chegou a 3.025,40 mL.m-2.dia-1, nesse dia a incidência de radiação solar média foi de 628,38 W.m-2, em seguimento disso, a eficiência térmica diária máxima obtida foi de 48,71%. Ademais, considerando as análises físico-químicas das águas contaminada e destilada foram alcançadas reduções máximas no teor de cloretos de 99,74%, de condutividade elétrica de 99,87% e nível máximo de redução de 100% para dureza total, sódio e potássio na água destilada, atingindo valores de acordo com os padrões de potabilidade exigidos pela Portaria do Ministério da Saúde vigente. O custo unitário anual de água potável é estimado em 0,11 R$.L-1.m2. Conclui-se que o sistema de destilação solar utilizado possui capacidade real de remoção de OTC e de produção de água para atender pequenas comunidades em localidades que existam alta incidência de radiação solar.Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior - CAPESapplication/pdfUniversidade Estadual da ParaíbaPrograma de Pós-Graduação em Ciência e Tecnologia Ambiental - PPGCTAUEPBBRPró-Reitoria de Pós-Graduação e Pesquisa - PRPGPPró-Reitoria de Pós-Graduação e Pesquisa - PRPGPENGENHARIA SANITARIAAntibióticoÁgua contaminadaDestilação solarQualidade da águaRemoção de oxitetraciclina de águas contaminadas via destilação solarRemoval of oxytetracycline from contaminated water via solar distillationinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersioninfo:eu-repo/semantics/masterThesisMedeiros, Keila Machado dehttps://orcid.org/0000-0001-9250-1432http://lattes.cnpq.br/0536073936814089Ramirez, Ricardo Chacarteguihttps://orcid.org/0000-0001-7285-8661Oliveira, Rui dehttp://lattes.cnpq.br/0621382505832223Conserva, Vanessa Rosaleshttps://orcid.org/0000-0002-7920-4107http://lattes.cnpq.br/8485947681582490Lima, Carlos Antônio Pereira dehttps://orcid.org/0000-0002-1301-6066http://lattes.cnpq.br/9217400486831036https://orcid.org/0000-0003-4660-4881http://lattes.cnpq.br/7288675839257335Silva, Camylla Barbosainfo:eu-repo/semantics/embargoedAccessporreponame:Repositório Institucional da Universidade Estadual da Paraíba (UEPB)instname:Universidade Estadual da Paraíba (UEPB)instacron:UEPBTHUMBNAILDS - Camylla Barbosa Silva.pdf.jpgDS - Camylla Barbosa Silva.pdf.jpgGenerated Thumbnailimage/jpeg2976https://repositorio.uepb.edu.br/bitstreams/ed94e38b-539b-42e4-9aa0-9f31810a66bf/download4a34921dbf6053e842632b0f26882a46MD58falseAnonymousREADTermo de Depósito BDTD.pdf.jpgTermo de Depósito BDTD.pdf.jpgGenerated Thumbnailimage/jpeg5207https://repositorio.uepb.edu.br/bitstreams/06d3274a-2418-482f-b348-ab4af6509a30/downloadaaceb36f0348befd45003cb0389329cfMD59falseAnonymousREAD2999-12-31LICENSElicense.txtlicense.txttext/plain;
