Resumo: Painful symptoms can be influenced by physical, psychological and social factors, therefore, the importance of bio-behavioral and psychosocial assessment in the TMD diagnosis process is emphasized. In this context, the objective was to evaluate various psychological aspects in patients diagnosed with TMD, compared with individuals without TMD. A cross-sectional study was carried out, characterized as observational, based on the diagnosis of TMD and psychological aspects. The study followed the norms of the Declaration of Helsinki and was approved by the Ethics Committee of the Alcides Carneiro University Hospital of the Federal University of Campina Grande (UFCG), under the following CAAE: 05722818.9.0000.5182. he sample consisted of convenience, with 160 participants according to the presence and absence of TMD: TMD Group (n = 80) and Control Group (n = 80) without TMD. The initial procedure consisted of the clinical diagnosis of TMD through the analysis of axes I and RDC / TMD axis II questionnaires, Fonseca Anamnesic Questionnaire and pain design, after which individuals answered the questionnaires related to the psychological aspects that are : Patient Health Questionnaire-9 (PHQ-9), General Anxiety Disorder (GAD-7), Pain Catastrophizing Scale (PCS), Pain Awareness and Surveillance Questionnaire (PVAQ). For comparison, crossings were performed between the groups (TMD vs Control) and then with the subdivision of the control group (No Pain vs. Pain TMD vs Body Pain). The data, mostly categorical, were analyzed for the difference of proportions using Pearson's chi-square test or Fisher's exact test when appropriate. Age, the only quantitative variable, was not normal, and nonparametric tests such as Mann-Whitney and Kruskal-Wallis were used. The significance level was set at p <0.05. All analyzes were conducted using IBM SPSS Statistics version 20.0 softwares and considering a confidence interval of 95.0%. After data analysis, it was concluded that there was a statistically significant association for TMD in the group of individuals diagnosed with TMD, anxiety (p <0.001), depression (p = 0.003), high catastrophization (p <0.001) and hypervigilance (p <0.001).

Nesse contexto, objetivou-se avaliar diversos aspectos psicológicos em pacientes diagnosticados com DTM, comparando com indivíduos sem DTM. Foi realizado um estudo transversal, caracterizado por ser do tipo observacional, baseado no diagnóstico de DTM e de aspectos psicológicos. O estudo seguiu as normas da declaração de Helsinque e foi aprovado pelo Comitê de Ética do Hospital Universitário Alcides Carneiro da Universidade Federal de Campina Grande – (UFCG), sob o seguinte CAAE: 05722818.9.0000.5182. A amostra foi composta por conveniência, com 160 participantes de acordo com a presença e ausência de DTM: Grupo DTM (n= 80) e Grupo Controle (n= 80) com ausência de DTM. O procedimento inicial consistiu no diagnóstico clínico de DTM por meio da análise dos eixos I e dos questionários do eixo II do RDC/TMD, Questionário Anamnésico de Fonseca e do desenho da dor, em seguida os indivíduos responderam os questionários relacionados aos aspectos psicológicos que são: Patient Health Questionnaire-9 (PHQ-9), Transtorno Geral de Ansiedade (GAD-7), Escala de catastrofização da dor (PCS), Questionário de Vigilância e Consciência da Dor (PVAQ). Para comparação, foram realizados cruzamentos entre os grupos (DTM vs Controle) e em seguida com a subdivisão do grupo controle (Sem dor vs Dor DTM vs Dor no corpo). Os dados coletados, em maioria categóricos, foram analisados quanto a diferença de proporções por meio do teste qui quadrado de Pearson ou teste exato de Fisher quando apropriado. A idade, única variável quantitativa, não apresentou normalidade, e foram utilizados testes não paramétricos como Mann-Whitney e de Kruskal-Wallis. O nível de significância foi fixado em p < 0,05. Todas as análises foram conduzidas usando o software IBM SPSS Statistics versão 20.0 e considerando um intervalo de confiança de 95,0%. Após análise dos dados concluiu-se que houve associação estatisticamente significativa para DTM no grupo de indivíduos com diagnostico de DTM, com presença de ansiedade (p < 0,001), presença de depressão (p = 0,003), elevada catastrofização (p < 0,001) e hipervigilância (p < 0,001).Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior - CAPESapplication/pdfUniversidade Estadual da ParaíbaPrograma de Pós-Graduação em Odontologia - PPGOUEPBBRPró-Reitoria de Pós-Graduação e Pesquisa - PRPGPPró-Reitoria de Pós-Graduação e Pesquisa - PRPGPTemporomandibular Joint DisordersAnxietyDepressionOrofacial painCIENCIAS DA SAUDETranstornos da Articulação TemporomandibularDor orofacialDepressãoAnsiedadeAspectos psicológicos de pacientes com disfunção temporomandibular e dor orofacialinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersioninfo:eu-repo/semantics/masterThesisCarneiro, Vanda Sanderana MacêdoCatão, Maria Helena Chaves de VasconcelosAmorim, Ana Marly Araújo MaiaFerreira, José Eraldo Vianainfo:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessporreponame:Repositório Institucional da Universidade Estadual da Paraíba (UEPB)instname:Universidade Estadual da Paraíba (UEPB)instacron:UEPBLICENSElicense.txtlicense.txttext/plain;
