Resumo: Infrared thermography has been applied to analyze skin temperature based on infrared radiation emitted by the human body and can be used as an adjunct in the diagnosis of diseases and for monitoring therapeutic procedures. The objective this research was to identify a thermal profile of normality in macro and micro regions of the face in a healthy population, through infrared thermography, comparing them with clinical data. This research consisted of a cross-sectional observational, quantitative and characterization study, carried out at the Laboratory of Infrared Thermography of the Department of Dentistry at the State University of Paraíba (UEPB). The sample consisted of 100 participants, over 18 years old, of both sexes, considered systemically healthy, who were invited to participate in this research, according to inclusion and exclusion criteria. For this, three thermographic acquisitions of each volunteer were performed: frontal and lateral, right and left, totaling 300 thermal images. For the acquisition of thermographic images, a portable camera with an infrared sensor FLIR T650 Infrared was used. The regions of interest (ROIs) for facial thermal analysis were as follows: for the frontal norm, 10 macroregions and eight micro-regions were determined; for the lateral norm (right and left), 6 macroregions and three microregions were determined. For analysis of the thermograms, the Flir ReasearchIR Max software was used. Inferential data analysis was conducted using the Wilcoxon test to identify possible temperature differences. In addition to the Mann-Whitney test, which was used to compare the gender variable with temperatures. Separately, for comparisons of age, race/ethnicity and BMI variables, the Kruskal-Wallis test was used. The significance level was set at 5%. All statistical analyzes were conducted using SPSS Statistics software (version 25.0; IBM SPSS, Chicago, IL, USA). The sample consisted of 66 women and 34 men, the majority being white (52%), aged less than 35 years (53%), with BMI categorized as “Adequate weight” (51%). There was a significant difference in temperature (p<0.001) between the macro-regions and micro-regions of the face when compared with each other and with body core temperature measurements. Female participants showed a decrease in temperature in certain regions. Volunteers under the age of 35, white and with “Adequate Weight” had higher temperatures in both macro and micro areas. In view of the results presented, it was possible to identify a normal thermal facial profile with hyperradiant and hyporadiant zones, according to the different variables related to the evaluated population.

O objetivo da presente pesquisa foi identificar um perfil térmico de normalidade em macros e microrregiões da face em uma população saudável, por meio da termografia infravermelha, comparando-os com dados clínicos. A pesquisa realizada consistiu em um estudo observacional transversal, quantitativo e de caracterização, realizado no Laboratório de Termografia Infravermelha do Departamento de Odontologia da Universidade Estadual da Paraíba (UEPB). A amostra foi composta por 100 participantes, acima de 18 anos, de ambos os sexos, considerados saudáveis sistemicamente que foram convidados a participar desta pesquisa, mediante critérios de inclusão e exclusão. Para isso foram realizadas três aquisições termográficas de cada voluntário: frontal e laterais, direita e esquerda, totalizando 300 imagens térmicas. Para aquisição das imagens termográficas foi utilizada uma câmera portátil de sensor infravermelho FLIR T650 Infrared. As regiões de interesse (ROIs) para análise térmica facial foram as seguintes: para a norma frontal foram determinadas 10 macrorregiões e oito microrregiões; para a norma lateral (direita e esquerda) determinaram-se 6 macrorregiões e três microrregiões. Para análise dos termogramas utilizou-se o software Flir ReasearchIR Max. A análise de dados inferencial foi conduzida por meio do teste de Wilcoxon para identificação de possíveis diferenças de temperatura. Além do teste de Mann-Whitney que foi empregado para comparações da variável sexo com as temperaturas. Separadamente, para comparações das variáveis idade, raça/etnia e IMC utilizou-se o teste de Kruskal-Wallis. O nível de significância foi fixado em 5%. Todas as análises estatísticas foram conduzidas utilizando o software SPSS Statistics (versão 25.0; IBM SPSS, Chicago, IL, EUA). A amostra foi composta por 66 mulheres e 34 homens, sendo a maioria brancos (52%), com idade menor que 35 anos (53%), apresentando IMC categorizado como “Peso adequado” (51%). Observou-se diferença significativa de temperatura (p<0,001) existente entre as macrorregiões e microrregiões da face ao serem comparadas entre si e com as medidas de temperatura central corpórea. Participantes do sexo feminino apresentaram diminuição da temperatura em determinadas regiões. Voluntários com idade inferior a 35 anos, brancos e com “Peso Adequado” apresentaram temperaturas mais elevadas tanto em macro quanto em microáreas. Em vista dos resultados apresentados foi possível identificar um perfil facial térmico de normalidade com zonas hiperradiantes e hiporradiantes, de acordo com as diferentes variáveis relacionadas à população avaliada.Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior - CAPESapplication/pdfUniversidade Estadual da ParaíbaPrograma de Pós-Graduação em Odontologia - PPGOUEPBBRPró-Reitoria de Pós-Graduação e Pesquisa - PRPGPPró-Reitoria de Pós-Graduação e Pesquisa - PRPGPThermographyMicrocirculationBody temperatureCIENCIAS DA SAUDETermografiaMicrocirculaçãoTemperatura corporalIdentificação de um perfil térmico de normalidade em macro e microrregiões da face por termografia infravermelhainfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersioninfo:eu-repo/semantics/masterThesisBento, Patrícia Meirahttps://orcid.org/0000-0002-9811-6663http://lattes.cnpq.br/7371238765825611Dantas, Janaína Araújohttps://orcid.org/0000-0003-4814-4508http://lattes.cnpq.br/9043372104870611Araújo, Maria Jacinta Arêa Leão Lopeshttps://orcid.org/0000-0002-6408-4579http://lattes.cnpq.br/2950821010866130Catão, Maria Helena Chaves de Vasconceloshttps://orcid.org/0000-0001-7681-3225http://lattes.cnpq.br/2133065990110383Alves, Pollianna Munizhttps://orcid.org/0000-0003-1297-4032http://lattes.cnpq.br/4860117599607892Bento, Patrícia Meirahttps://orcid.org/0000-0002-9811-6663http://lattes.cnpq.br/7371238765825611http://lattes.cnpq.br/9189170078605083Barbosa, Jussara da Silvainfo:eu-repo/semantics/embargoedAccessporreponame:Repositório Institucional da Universidade Estadual da Paraíba (UEPB)instname:Universidade Estadual da Paraíba (UEPB)instacron:UEPBTHUMBNAILTermo de Depósito BDTD.jpgTermo de Depósito BDTD.jpgGenerated Thumbnailimage/jpeg5029https://repositorio.uepb.edu.br/bitstreams/cd9ac47a-6bd1-4d6b-925e-829d5cdf1e3f/downloada7a2097098e512007df3bffdcfe0443eMD57falseAnonymousREAD2999-12-31TS - Jussara da Silva Barbosa.jpgTS - Jussara da Silva Barbosa.jpgGenerated Thumbnailimage/jpeg2974https://repositorio.uepb.edu.br/bitstreams/3f259fde-c47a-48c9-a65f-31ab97420148/download40fc14e9eb54f11267edf9a5f5d3063cMD58falseAnonymousREADORIGINALTermo de Depósito BDTDTermo de Depósito BDTDTermo de Depósito BDTDapplication/pdf133308https://repositorio.uepb.edu.br/bitstreams/cd81f7b1-d7d2-48ac-873a-a971c975e75b/download2a76ad09bbf3ecfb03af16a0ba136534MD53trueAnonymousREAD2999-12-31TS - Jussara da Silva BarbosaTS - Jussara da Silva BarbosaTS - Jussara da Silva Barbosaapplication/pdf1767725https://repositorio.uepb.edu.br/bitstreams/291f5ef4-c733-4aa8-94cf-b62f5d563b39/downloadc03ac1eb26367fab4b57178b0c474d57MD55falseAnonymousREADLICENSElicense.txtlicense.txttext/plain;
