Intervivências: a (in) existência possível de pessoas intersexo – entre a regulação da medicina e a tutela do direito

Living beings are born, grow, reproduce and die – it is commonly said. From science primers to the rules of medicine and law, the cycle of life seems to be pacified. But not everyone is born, not everyone manages to grow and the reality of reproduction is not valid for all bodies. Perhaps the only truth about this cycle is actually death. But if such a cycle is the cycle of life and all beings correspond to it, who deviates from this path is what? And, more than that, who created these truths? How does someone who does not fit into these truths, certainly live, although somewhat alien to the standards established by scientific knowledge and culture? Intrigued by these questions, I seek in this work to investigate, through a bibliographical and documentary analysis, how medicine and law have regulated non-compliant lives, more specifically with regard to sexuality considered anomalous, or rather, intersex lives. For such an investigation, I use critical analyzes by Michel Foucault, Judith Butler and Paul Beatriz Preciado, among other authors, to question institutions such as sex/gender, nature/culture and normal/pathological, as well as law itself and medicine. The intention is to problematize the possibility of living, even if in the cracks, even if in interventions.
