In this work I intend to conduct a comparative analysis of the novel The Last Temptation of Christ, of Nikos Kazantzakis, and Greek tragedy. With this I seek to deepen the understanding of the fiction process of the Christian myth, its resonances and the construction of new formulations and reflections about the religious narrative. I believe that with this analysis it is possible to understand mechanisms of segregation and aggregation existing in that discourse. I will also try to define the myth dramatization concept as a process of fictionalization of mythic narratives through the tragic. I will therefore present a comparative approach that will deal with the Christian myth, the Greek tragedy, the Kazantzákis novel, its relations and consequently the revaluation of the myth through fiction. The approach will be based on canonical thinkers in literature, culture and philosophy, such as Mircea Eliade, Friedrich Nietzsche, Werner Jaeger, Jean-Pierre Vernant, Walter Benjamin and Terry Eagleton, thus establishing an interdisciplinary analysis of a novel of great relevance for the 20th century.
