Ruminations approaches the body through creations of relationships and series of organs wherein the anal potency is an imperative. While taken by psychoanalysis as a strong means of sovereignty and self-control, the arse has its forces constantly sublimated and its usage rather privatized. This thesis researches manners to free and to desublimate the arse in cases of its public use and social production. Two operations are at issue: one which is physical and direct, and another of the performative-discursive matter. These operations set myriads of relations. The main one being the butthole as an organ whose force is to diagram resistance, and the viability of which lays on its merging to pleasure. The propositions have philosophic-theoretical features and emerge from case studies in dance, music, visual arts, performance and video. Authors such as Paul B. Preciado, Georges Bataille, Gilles Deleuze, Felix Guattari, Michel Foucault, José Muñoz, Peggy Phelan, Brian Massumi, André Lepecki and Fred Moten, compose the basis of the thoughts developed. Ruminações is, thus, structured in four axes. First, I research the relationship in between the extremities of the Gastric tube and its associative production of animality. In that matter, experiences that abdicates from erect positions and which invest on collective anal practices are also observed. A second axis endeavors into the corporealsemantic potencies of the butthole and how it reconfigures a field for gender struggles to take place. Then, another corporeal series is built, however, at this time relating the butthole, the eye and the skin in order to address properties of darkness. Finally, I rely on the double materiality of eschatology when anus related, which I define as waste and magic. Therefore, I approach the anarchitecture of the rubbish, and I ramble on the immanence of magic and its multi-naturalist cosmology
