Formação continuada na docência universitária: uma proposta para a Faculdade Cearense

This work represents an attempt to select elements able to provide necessary subsidies for the construction of a proposed continuing training for teachers. To this end, sought through theoretical reference, describe a brief reflection on the history of higher education in Brazil and so understand how the University teaching has been designed over the years in this country. It was noticed that the profile of the teacher was being woven and the leading strand of this weaving is the historical context. Currently, on University teaching new challenges are imposed and continuing education presents itself as a resource capable of delivering a better coping of these issues, so much that some institutions have implemented this practice as set out in this work. To better support the elaboration of a proposal for suitable continuing training to Faculdade Cearense, sought through the use of questionnaires to collect data on the identity of the teacher, your professional training, their difficulties in relation to teaching practice. It was also collected information about the level of interest on the part of the institution management to implement a permanent formation. It should be noted that through the calculation of Baretta a sample of seventy three teachers, seven coordinators of course and two managers was considered representative, so that it was possible to perform data analysis by combining and comparing the responses. After evaluating the responses to the questionnaires and the actions promoted by other institutions of higher education, was finally designed a proposal for continuing training for teachers of Faculdade Cearense, which will be delivered to the administrative direction and management academic to be appreciated.
