Considering this scenario, we strived to understand the composition of social and technical qualification skills in the training of those who graduated technical and higher education at no Instituto Federal de Educação, Ciência e Tecnologia (IFCE), Maracanaú campus, with emphasis on the contributions of this training to some qualification based on the social and human dimension. In order to reach the goals presented, the research method chosen was based on the historical-dialectical materialism, plus direct observation and interviews with seven students and 11 (eleven) teachers. The theoretical framework that supported the analysis of the data is linked to the categories that constitute this research: Productive Restructuring (ANTUNES, 2010, 2013; HARVEY, 1994), Professional Qualification/Training (FERRETTI, 2004; PAIVA, 1999) and Human Formation (MANACORDA, 2011; MARX, 2010, 2014). Among the results, we highlight that the training provided by IFCE, Maracanaú campus, was an important requirement for the inclusion of those graduated in the labor market, since it became the basis for the development of skills and competences typically attached to the flexible model (initiative, proactivity, ability for working in teams, among others), which in turn are mobilized in the working environment. However, this qualification is not only established under an instrumental perspective. It was possible to verify the accomplishment of pedagogical and academical measures by the institution studied, in order to provide the terms for the student approach practical reality, looking over it and led by the thought that, beginning from the first impressions, aims the understanding of the connections and the relationship between part and totality. Therefore, formal school is still an important place for production of knowledge and acquisition of qualification beyond technical aspects.As inovações no mundo do trabalho, durante século XXI, influenciam diretamente a formação/qualificação profissional dos trabalhadores na sociedade brasileira. Considerando essa realidade, buscou-se compreender as tessituras da qualificação social e técnica na formação de egressos de nível técnico e superior no Instituto Federal de Educação, Ciência e Tecnologia (IFCE), Campus Maracanaú, com destaque nas contribuições dessa formação para uma qualificação pautada na dimensão social. Para o alcance desses objetivos, utilizou-se o método de investigação baseado na perspectiva do Materialismo Histórico-Dialético, com o emprego da observação direta e da entrevista com sete egressos e 11 professores. O referencial teórico que subsidiou a análise dos dados está vinculado às categorias constituintes desta pesquisa: Reestruturação Produtiva (ANTUNES, 2010, 2013; HARVEY, 1994), Qualificação Profissional (FERRETTI, 2004; PAIVA, 1999) e Formação Humana (MANACORDA, 2011; MARX, 2010, 2014). Dentre os resultados alcançados, destaque-se o fato de que a formação viabilizada pelo IFCE, Campus Maracanaú, foi importante requisito para a inserção dos egressos no mundo do trabalho, uma vez que se tornou base para o desenvolvimento de habilidades e competências típicas do modelo flexível (iniciativa, proatividade, capacidade de trabalhar em equipe, entre outras), e que, por sua vez, são mobilizados no ambiente de trabalho. Essa formação, contudo, não se estabelece unicamente sob a perspectiva técnica. Foi possível constatar a realização de ações pedagógicas e acadêmicas, pela instituição estudada, propiciando condições para que o discente se aproxime da realidade concreta, debruçando-se sobre esta, mediante o movimento do pensamento que, partindo das primeiras impressões, visa à compreensão das conexões, das relações, entre parte e totalidade.
