The object of study that we propose to investigate in this research is the conception of love in Augustine's thought, in which we will seek to understand how, in the Hipponense's view, man can make, even in this life, the transition from a love-desire to a love-charity. The importance of this research is justified by the low number of studies on this dynamism of love; in addition to the need to understand how the human being, which in essence is desire, can live an ethic of charity. To this end, in addition to the ideas of love, desire and charity, those of passion, will, virtue, human and divine nature are also deepened. Thus, the main works that clarify these concepts are explored in the Augustinian corpus. In the end, it is concluded that this movement of transformation of love can occur in three ways in our lives: from a love of the world to a love of God; from an inordinate love to an ordered love; and again, from a human love to a divine love. Therefore, the contribution of this work consists precisely in offering an explanation, according to Augustine's thought, of how the human being can make the transition from love- desire to love-charity in his existence.
