Resumo: In the individual with HIV/AIDS ocular alterations are observed related to the disease and its complications or to the iatrogenics phenomenons determined by its therapeutics, being able to in some cases follow the blindness. Authores are unanimous in affirming that about 75% of the patients with AIDS develop visual alterations during the period of the disease. We have as objective to know the incidence of ocular problems in the individuaals carriers of HIV/AIDS, to correlate the ocular discoveries, the apprenticeship of evolution of the disease ande the referred complaints, to presente the patients historical with discoveries oculars related to the AIDS and to contribute for the construction of the nurse's paper in the patients ocular health with HIV/AIDS. This was a descriiptive exploratory study. Developed in the national health clinic of the Hospital São José - Ceará, with 100 individuals were classified in discovery ocular absent, 68 individuals with discovery ocular without relationship to the AIDS and 16 individuls with discovery related to the AIDS; the ocular alterations related or not to the AIDS are predominantly present in the apprenticeship IV of the disease. About the complaints and symmmptoms referred by the patients were mentioned in the result 223. The patients that presented discoveries ocular related to lhe AIDS have severe compromise of the visual sharpness, eye fund and visual field. Finally, we believed that, by means of the Nursing Consultation addressed for the ocular exam we detected 84 individuals with discovery ocular; this evidences the importance of the performance of the nursing in the ocular health of the HIV/AIDS individuals carriers.

Estudiosos do assunto são unânimes em afirmar que cerca de 75% dos pacientes com AIDS desenvolvem alterações visuais no decorrer da doença. Temos como objetivo conhecer a incidência de problemas oculares nos indivíduos portadores do HIV/AIDS, correlacionar os achados oculares, o estágio de evolução da doença e as queixas referidas, apresentar histórico dos pacientes com achados oculares relacionados à AIDS e contribuir para a construção do papel da enfermeira na saúde ocular dos pacientes com HIV/AIDS. Este foi um estudo exploratório, descritivo. Desenvolvido no ambulatório do Hospital São José - Ceará, com 100 indivíduos portadores do HIV. Podemos concluir, que da amostra estudada, 16 indivíduos foram categorizados em achado ocular ausente, 68 indivíduos com achado ocular sem relação à AIDS e 16 indivíduos com achado relacionado à AIDS; as alterações oculares relacionadas ou não à AIDS estão presentes predominantemente no estágio IV da doença. Quanto as queixas e sintomas referidos pêlos pacientes foram mencionadas no total 223. Os pacientes que apresentaram achados oculares relacionados à AIDS têm severo comprometimento da acuidade visual, fundo de olho e campo visual.
