Resumo: In the information and knowledge society, marked by high level of scientific and technological development occurred great improvements in product and service information, which facilitated communication between users and libraries and, consequently, the production of new knowledge. The communication takes the role of Critical Success Factor for the quality of scientific papers in the process of knowledge management. The main objective of this work is to investigate the importance of communication between librarians and library users CEFET / RJ, so that these professionals are mediators between information and user. Thus, from the method exploratory study using a questionnaire as a tool to capture the perceptions of librarians, which includes questions on the Critical Success Factors and which of these factors are of greatest relevance to the library. Furthermore, questionnaires users (students and teachers) were applied to questions about how is the communication between them and the professionals (librarians). The data were obtained by analysis of the extracted contents of these questionnaires. In consequence of the results proposed to improve the satisfaction of users who use the library were presented

A comunicação assume o papel de Fator Crítico de Sucesso para a qualidade de trabalhos científicos nos processos de gestão do conhecimento. O objetivo principal deste trabalho é pesquisar a importância da comunicação entre bibliotecários e usuários da Biblioteca CEFET/RJ, de modo que estes profissionais sejam mediadores entre a informação e o usuário. Assim, a partir do método de pesquisa exploratória e utilizando um questionário como instrumento para captar as percepções dos bibliotecários, que inclui perguntas sobre os Fatores Críticos de Sucesso e quais destes fatores são de maior relevância para a biblioteca. Outrossim, foram aplicados questionários aos usuários (alunos e professores) com perguntas sobre como se dá a comunicação entre estes e os profissionais (bibliotecários). Os dados foram obtidos por meio de análise do conteúdo extraído destes questionários.
