History is built daily by people, and the way it is conveyed is a potent builder of memories and identities in society. These are questions that are present in this dissertation, which aims to analyze the historical memory that has been built in Erechim / RS. For this purpose, we analyze as sources, memorialistic texts, the written form and the school of basic education. It is a bibliographical, documentary and empirical research in which we consider a historical socio-cultural perspective in a micro- historical approach, analyzing the sources through the clues, and searching for elements of contextual and singular tessitura in the processes of memory construction. We take the three sources to analyze by means of the indiciary paradigm, where the signs allow us to understand which clues show how this historical memory has been constructed. To this end, among other researchers, we dialogue with Carlo Ginzburg, and with regard to the notion of historical memory, we seek support in Jacques Le Goff. We organized the dissertation in the following way, in the first part we present ?A History in Question?, discussing the micro history theoretically and methodologically, as well as bringing the specificities of each analyzed source. The second part is dedicated to the contextualization of the place, in which we highlight the formation, location and urban construction of Erechim and its relation with the colonizing project. In the third part we highlight the study carried out by means of the index methodology, in the local memorialists, A Voz da Serra newspaper, teaching plan and students' drawings. By means of a reading of luminous and faded aspects, the findings of the research allow us to understand ordinary aspects, which reiterate the official history, but in the school source, we find extraordinary clues that infer reexistences.
