The present study aims to give lecture on the purchase of foodstuffs of family agriculture for the institutional market of school feeding in municipalities in the State of Paraná, with regard to article 14 of law 11,947 adequacy/2009, the types of products and analysis of prices paid for produce. A quantitative approach, starting from the benefits of accounts available in the electronic site of the management system of accountability (SiGPC) of the National Education Development Fund. For comparison of prices of the produce used Central supply prices (CEASA). The results show that more than half of the municipalities (51%) still do not comply with the law, the other 49% reached 30% or more of the resource spent on family farming. The fruit and vegetable groups demanded larger volumes of procurement and federal resources spent at the State level, and each region presented their particularities that depend on the social, economic and environmental conditions of the same. Prices paid to produce, these in your most are higher those of the CEASA, and may suggest the practice of a value that allows taking into account logistical costs and other charges. However, there are still a number of products with lower prices, some of them marketed quite often, which may be positive for the municipalities, but not necessarily to the farmer who may have shouldered losses. The importance of this market for rural development and for both, the prices paid to farmers should be attractive and fair, without harming the rationalization of public spending. Therefore, shows that there are still many municipalities that still do not meet the law, pointing to an increased potential of this market for family farmers, in addition to the need for further discussions on the prices paid to these farmers.
