Resumo: | The fertilizer-based urea may suffer significant loss of nitrogen into the atmosphere due to the conversion of urea to ammonia in the presence of urease, an enzyme produced by soil microorganisms. This study was conducted to evaluate the addition of urease inhibitor NBPT of the urea, to increase the absorption of nitrogen for the plant and, consequently, its further development. The experiments were developed in the field and in a greenhouse, in a factorial. In the year that the tests were installed in the field, reported to be a water deficit in the soil of approximately 550mm, which promoted stress in plants. In the greenhouse, were tested three doses of N urea, in the presence and absence of NBPT, split in two and with two seasons for the supply of water before and after applying the fertilizer. In the field tests, the application of fertilizer was started 15 days past of transplanting seedlings. We tested three doses of urea (2, 4 and 8 of N / plant), associated or not to NBPT and, in another test, three forms of splits. All experiments included a witness without nitrogen. Four months after the delivery of fertilizer, in the trial in a greenhouse, were assessed a total dry weight and nitrogen mobilized by plants. In the field, five months after the last application, were assessed the number of branches plagiotrópicos and height of plants. The use of NBPT, associated with urea in coffee conducted in pots, increased by 32% called the N and 18% to dry mass of plants. Moreover, in experiments in the field, was not observed response to the use of NBPT associated with urea. |
