This dissertation explores the strategic role of geotechnologies in mediating agrarian conflicts in the state of Maranhão. These technologies encompass a diverse range of tools, such as Geographic Information Systems (GIS), remote sensing, and geoprocessing, which enable the collection, storage, analysis, and sharing of geospatial data. The research emphasizes how these advanced tools allow not only the mapping of land use and occupation patterns but also the identification of areas with potential or actual land conflicts more precisely and effectively. The foundation of this research stems from the method of historical and dialectical materialism, involving a bibliographic review and field reality analysis. Furthermore, a mixed approach between quantitative and qualitative data was chosen to present an overview of the state regarding land structure, conflict records, and how geotechnologies can strategically and effectively support the fight for land and territory. This study highlights the importance of geography in appropriating the tools inherent to geographers to strengthen traditional communities in complex contexts such as the establishment of new dynamics of rentier capitalism. The integration between geotechnologies and the traditional knowledge of communities stands out as a unique aspect in territorial approaches, promoting more balanced and collaborative planning.
