Resumo: The present work aims to present an approach for teaching Euclidean Geometry using geometric constructions as an auxiliary tool for the visualization of more theoretical and abstract concepts, also helping in the understanding of the basic concepts of Euclidean Geometry. Through a historical approach, it is possible to testify that in Brazil, the teaching of Geometry never had relevance deserved and these studies are almost always dissociated from geometric constructions. This paper shows the influences that the Teaching of Mathematics suffered over the years and how, mainly, the teaching of Geometry was affected by the Modern Mathematics Movement (MMM). By presenting the contents of Geometry together with geometric constructions only proves that these studies should be inseparable. Finally, this author presents a resolution of problems found in the National Common Curricular Base (BNCC) with help of geometric constructions.

Por meio de um recorte histórico, mostra-se como ensino da Geometria, no Brasil, nunca teve a relevância que deveria ter e que, quase sempre esteve dissociado das construções geométricas. O trabalho traz as influências que o Ensino da Matemática sofreu ao longo dos anos e como, princi palmente, o ensino da Geometria foi afetada pelo Movimento da Matemática Moderna (MMM). Ao apresentar os conteúdos da Geometria junto com as construções geométricas, mostra-se que ambas devem estar sempre juntas e são indissociáveis.
