Resumo: This research was developed in the 2nd semester of 2023, in a municipal public school in Belo Horizonte – MG, whose objective is to understand the strategies used by students in the 4th year of Elementary School in solving unconventional mathematical problems proposed from the perspective of scenarios for classroom investigation. To this end, a research was developed through the qualitative approach in my own pedagogical practice that had as an instrument of data collection the written records of the students in the resolution of mathematical problems and the audios recorded during classes. For the development of the research, eight mathematical problems were proposed to the students, the first problem being a "warm-up" so that they could become familiar with the proposal and from there we proposed the seven unconventional mathematical problems that were worked on in five classes. The study included 22 children aged between 9 and 10 years age. It was concluded that, in order to work with the resolution of non-conventional problems, it is necessary for the teacher to clarify to the students that it is a work with mathematical problems different from traditional mathematical problems and that there are other rules of resolution that can be used in this investigative process. As an educational product, a booklet was developed, aimed at teachers of the Early Years of Elementary School, with the mathematical problems used in the research, as well as suggestions for interactions that can be adopted by teachers.
