Departamento de História, Instituto de Ciências Humanas e Sociais, Universidade Federal de Ouro Preto.A proposta desta dissertação é, partindo-se de determinada literatura realista brasileira dos anos 1970, analisar e descrever as afecções mobilizadas nas obras que se intensificam enquanto atmosfera (Stimmung) do período em questão, que é melancólica. Para isto, este trabalho é dividido em três grandes partes. Na primeira parte, faz-se uma abordagem sobre o que se confrontou enquanto possibilidade de leitura da década de setenta, subdividida em três momentos, sendo estes: (1) o entendimento sobre determinada interpretação da melancolia enquanto afeto e seu relacionamento específico com a temporalidade (experiências e expectativas); (2) a abertura mais pontual aos anos 1970 a partir e através de reflexões críticas sobre a estética realista que se generaliza na literatura brasileira do período; (3) a análise e aprofundamento das possibilidades de leitura que se apresentam tendo em vista a tematização das atmosferas (Stimmungen) e, com isso, suas possibilidades no que tange ao conhecimento histórico. Já na segunda parte são apresentadas as descrições das obras que orientam a proposta desta dissertação. Subdividida em dois tópicos, a proposta é analisar as afecções específicas de cada uma destas obras, indicando-se as tonalidades da atmosfera (Stimmung) melancólica que se intensifica no período. No primeiro tópico, são tematizadas três obras de Antônio Torres, sendo elas: Um cão uivando para a lua (1972), Os homens dos pés redondos (1973) e Essa terra (1976) em que indicamos uma Stimmung caracterizada pela aridez; no segundo tópico, abordam-se duas distopias de Ignácio de Loyola Brandão, Zero (1975) e Não verás país nenhum (1981), em que se realça uma Stimmung constituída pelos constantes movimentos de fragmentação e cisão da existência. Ao final de cada um desses tópicos, é feita a descrição das atmosferas das obras e dos movimentos que as intensificam. Na terceira e última, parte, apresenta-se as conclusões da consideração de uma intensificação do afeto melancólico enquanto Stimmung, o que se poderia extrair no que se refere à determinada forma de relacionamento com/no tempo e o confrontar-se com tons desta forma de estar-nomundo, característico da temporalidade, dos horizontes e das expectativas, dos anos 1970 no Brasil.The purpose of this dissertation stems from certain Brazilian realist literature from the 1970s, to analyze and describe the affections mobilized in the works that intensify as an atmosphere (Stimmung) of the period in question, which is melancholic. To achieve it, this work is divided into three main parts. In the first part, an approach is made about what was faced as a possibility of reading the seventies, subdivided into three moments, which are: (1) the understanding of a certain interpretation of melancholy as an affection and its specific relationship with temporality (experiences and expectations); (2) a more punctual opening to the 1970s as of and through critical reflections about the realist aesthetics that were generalized in Brazilian literature of the period; (3) the analysis and further development of the possibilities of reading that are presented bearing in mind the thematization of atmospheres (Stimmungen) and thereby its possibilities with regard to historical knowledge. In the second part, the descriptions of the works that guide the proposal of this dissertation are presented. Subdivided into two topics, the proposal is to analyze the specific affections of each of these works, indicating the tones of the melancholic atmosphere (Stimmung) that intensified during the period. In the first topic, three works by Antônio Torres are discussed, which are: Um cão uivando para lua (1972), Os homens dos pés redondos (1973) and Essa terra (1976) whereby we indicate a Stimmung characterized by aridity; in the second topic, two dystopias by Ignácio de Loyola Brandão, Zero (1975) and Não verás país nenhum (1981) are addressed, whereby a Stimmung constituted by constant movements of fragmentation and splitting of existence is highlighted. At the end of each of these topics, a description is made about the atmospheres of the works and the movements that intensify them.
