Resumo: | The social dynamics of the contemporary world are largely conditioned by the phenomenon of globalization, which takes place in local spheres, whether as nations, states, municipalities, districts or “territories”. Such global processes with local orientations are established in social dispositions through the appreciation of diversity (Ortiz et al, 2023), through practices that present themselves as “alternatives” to the problems of globalized modernity, such as ecotourism. Several territories are highlighted by their agents around the globe for presenting practices that solve problems of environmental impacts such as global warming, pollution of seas and rivers and practices for combating wars based on philosophies and the diversity of cults, rites and beliefs. The “Macuxi Territory”, the empirical basis of this work, is a place that is discussed by its main exponent as authentic due to its practices to combat environmental degradation. As a complementary theoretical basis to expand the discussion on the so-called alternative phenomena and ecotourism in global contexts in their respective localized social arrangements, we draw on the literature of Bourdieu (1996) and Lahire (2004). In view of this, we arrive at the problem of what practices are carried out in the “Macuxi Territory”, their agents, meanings and social conditioning factors and the objective is to understand the practices carried out there through the methodological tools of social trajectory, sociological portraits on an individual scale, participant observation, dense description and review of the problem. As a result, we understand that the practices are related, in a broader way, to diversity and ecotourism policies and, in a more situated way, to the search for the “alternative” conditioned by social trajectories and social dispositions. |
