O objetivo desta tese foi avaliar a efetividade do jogo de tabuleiro "Mural do Risco" no conhecimento de pessoas idosas em contexto escolar sobre a prevenção do HIV/aids. Estudo multimétodo, inicialmente realizado com a validação de conteúdo e de aparência do jogo “Mural do Risco” sobre prevenção do HIV/aids e do guia de uso do jogo. Ademais, desenvolveu-se e validou-se o conteúdo de instrumentos ilustrados pré e pós-teste para investigação do conhecimento sobre prevenção do HIV/aids pelo público idoso. Na validação do jogo por juízes da área da saúde, obtiveram-se Índice de Validade de Conteúdo (IVC) 0,94; 0,91 e 0,92 para objetivo, estrutura e apresentação e relevância, respectivamente; e o escore Suitability Assessment of Material Escore total de 22, por juízes de outras áreas. O guia de uso do jogo, quando avaliado por juízes da área da saúde, obteve IVC 0,89; 0,92 e 0,94 para objetivo, estrutura e apresentação e relevância, respectivamente, e, quando avaliado por juízes de outras áreas, o Escore Suitability Assessment of Material obteve escore total de 24 pontos. Na validação semântica do jogo, obteve-se o Índice de Concordância Semântico (ICS) 1,0 para: objetivo, organização, estilo da escrita, aparência e motivação. Na validação de conteúdo do instrumento pelos juízes da área da saúde, obtiveram-se 1,0; 0,95 e 0,96 para objetivo, estrutura e apresentação e relevância, respectivamente. O Ensaio Randomizado Controlado (ERC) foi realizado com 100 participantes matriculados na Educação de Jovens e Adultos em Recife/Pernambuco, sendo 50 pessoas para o grupo intervenção e 50 para o grupo controle. Seguiram-se as recomendações do Ofício Circular no 2/2021/CONEP/CNS/MS. Respeitaram-se aos princípios bioéticos, conforme a Resolução no 466/2012 do Conselho Nacional de Saúde. O estudo iniciou após a aprovação do Comitê de Ética em Pesquisa (CAAE: 34578920.0.0000.5208) e as anuências da Secretaria de Educação e Esporte de Pernambuco e da Secretaria de Educação da Prefeitura da cidade do Recife. Utilizaram-se os testes paramétricos e não paramétricos. As etapas da coleta de dados foram: 1) Aplicação do instrumento ilustrado (pré-teste); 2) Aplicação do jogo “Mural do Risco” para o grupo intervenção e aplicação do instrumento (pré-teste) imediatamente após a intervenção; e 3) Aplicação do pós-teste 30 dias após a intervenção no grupo intervenção e 30 dias após a entrevista inicial no grupo controle. Realizou-se a randomização em cluster. Quanto à comparação das médias dos escores de conhecimento, no momento basal, não houve diferença estatisticamente significante (p = 0.665). Contudo, observou-se que houve aumento significativo das médias dos escores no grupo intervenção entre o momento basal e o trigésimo dia (p=0,001), o que não aconteceu para o grupo controle (p=0.953). O jogo é inovador e foi efetivo no conhecimento dos participantes sobre a prevenção do HIV/aids. Proporcionou aprendizado lúdico e descontraído, e contribuirá para o cuidado de enfermagem relacionado à saúde sexual das pessoas idosas.CAPESHealth education actions carried out through board games can motivate the participation of elderly people in approaching topics that are taboo, such as the prevention of the Acquired Immunodeficiency Virus - HIV. The objective of this thesis was to evaluate the effectiveness of the board game "Mural do Risco" in the knowledge of elderly people in a school context about the prevention of HIV/AIDS. Multimethod study, initially carried out with the content and appearance validation of the game “Mural do Risco” on HIV/AIDS prevention and the guide for using the game. Furthermore, the content of pre- and post-test illustrated instruments was developed and validated to investigate knowledge about HIV/AIDS prevention by the elderly public. In the validation of the game by judges from the health area, a Content Validity Index (CVI) of 0.94 was obtained; 0.91 and 0.92 for objective, structure and presentation and relevance respectively and the Suitability Assessment of Material Score total of 22, by judges from other areas. The guide for using the game, when evaluated by judges in the health area, obtained a CVI of 0.89; 0.92 and 0.94 for objective, structure and presentation and relevance, respectively and, when evaluated by judges from other areas, the Score Suitability Assessment of Material obtained a total score of 24 points. In the semantic validation of the game, the Semantic Agreement Index (ICS) 1.0 was obtained for: objective, organization, writing style, appearance and motivation. In the content validation of the instrument, by the judges in the health area, 1.0 was obtained; 0.95 and 0.96 for objective, structure and presentation and relevance, respectively. The Randomized Controlled Trial (RCT) was carried out with 100 participants enrolled in Youth and Adult Education in Recife – Pernambuco, with 50 people in the intervention group and 50 in the control group. The recommendations of circular letter No. 2/2021/CONEP/CNS/MS were followed. Bioethical principles were respected, in accordance with Resolution No. 466/2012 of the National Health Council. The study started after the approval of the Ethics and Research Committee (CAAE: 34578920.0.0000.5208) and the approvals of the secretary of education and sport of Pernambuco and the secretary of education of the city of Recife. Parametric and non-parametric tests were used. The stages of data collection were: 1) Application of the illustrated instrument (pre-test); 2) Application of the game “Mural do Risco” for the intervention group and application of the instrument (pre-test) immediately after the intervention and 3) Application of the post-test 30 days after the intervention in the intervention group and 30 days after the initial interview in the control group. Cluster randomization was performed. As for the comparison of the means of knowledge scores, at baseline, there was no statistically significant difference (p = 0.665). However, it was observed that there was a significant increase in mean scores in the intervention group between baseline and the thirtieth day (p=0.001), while there was no increase in the control group (p=0.953). The game is innovative and was effective in the participants' knowledge about HIV/AIDS prevention.
